Romney: I will balance the budget

"People who give a **** about this country are going to have to stop swallowing down the **** that the R's and D's are both shoveling." <<<This! I'm happy to say, I haven't had a **** sandwich in quite a long time. Here's to no more **** sandwiches. Unfortunately the political establishment seems to guarantee for every presidential election that the Zombie nation will continue to carryon as sheeple and pull the lever for their favorite political party, qualifications be damned. It's truly amazing to me that time and again this is the "best" and "brightest" and most "financed" that America has to offer as presidential candidates over the last 40+ years.

1986 and rivet, thanks for the posts.

I don't think a vote for a candidate who loses the election is a "waste." Not at all. If that's true, then every vote for every losing candidate in every election is wasted just the same, no matter if the candidate got 49% of the vote or 0.49%.

If I'm going to vote for a losing candidate, I'd rather it be for a candidate whose ideas I support rather than settling for the **** sandwich that looks the least offensive.

BI- perhaps I have offended you in some way but you never seem to respond to my posts. You specifically asked why anyone should believe that romney would balance the budget and I pointed to his tenure as Gov of Ma where he inherited a horrible deficit and spiraling debt and in 4 years had erased the deficit and turned the billions of dollar of debt into billions of dollars of surplus.

Why no comment?

Of the 5 major candidates for President in 2012, 4 of the 5 have been a part of balancing government budgets.

Newt Speaker of the House
Paul House member
Santorum Senator
Romney Governor of Mass
Obama

If you are voting in November on this issue and this is your biggest issue, 4 have and one hasn't, pretty straight forward vote for me.

Ron Paul seems to be the most likely to have the most positive effect on our budget spiral we are in as a country. That said, his chance of getting nominated seems rather small. So we are likely left with Romney vs. Obama. I would say that whether Romney can get a balanced budget in place are at least 50 times greater than the chances of Obama doing the same.

Democrats have been running down this country for decades and still are, and will continue to regardless of who their president is, due to the party's agenda.

Republicans have been running down this country for decades and still are, and will continue to regardless of who their president is, due to the party's agenda.

An independent president just may have an agenda to save this country, unlike the other two parties. How could an independent ever win the presidency? By the voters getting behind the independents in increasing numbers, electon after election. 15 million in 2012, 30 million in 2016, 60 million in 2020. The more votes the independents garner, the more the independent politicians will challenge the R&D's in the general elections.

You might think you are voting for a "winner" from the R or D party, but you lose. Neither of those parties are for the people! They are for the special interests that own them. YOU LOSE!

A vote for R or D is a vote supporting the continuing degradation of this country. A vote for Independent is obviously a vote for change!

A vote for I is winning.

No BI, getting Obama away from another 4 years without fear of reprisal is most certainly not a wasted effort. I understand what you and rivet are saying about both parties. I think everyone does. What you say, though, has almost become as cliched as saying "I work hard, but I play hard," or "I really like watching the Super Bowl for the commericals." While what you say (lumping Dems & Pubs together as one ****** party) certainly has some truth to it, saying it over and over and over again has grown very tiresome, especially when the danger of re-electing Obama FAR outweighs the benefit of getting a third party dude elected, which we KNOW WON'T HAPPEN. Thus, wasted vote. But hey, you expressed yourself. So you can be very proud of yourself.

"Ummm, whoever claimed this? I wouldn't piss on a guy like Obama if he were on fire. He's not in the top 10% of Americans qualified to be President." <<<<Ummm, the dumb *** politicians from both major parties and the American people who support "their" candidate. I didn't say anything about qualifications, I was being facetious.

Yeah, hence my point about being facetious and the "perception" and "point of view" of both parties touting their guy as the candidate that's going to lead us to the promised land. Trust me, IMO there haven't been many presidential candidates in America's history that would get my vote as being very stellar, especially in the last 40 years. There may be bright folks within their adminstrations, but that's entirely different.

Rex, I said I'd "almost certainly" vote against Obama, because I don't know what the world will look like in 6 months. I'm on record on numerous threads saying he sucks, and saying I'd rate him as 2nd worst president of my lifetime.

But if it's Obama vs Santorum and they're polling 50-50 in Texas and the race is too close to call nationally-- I suppose there's a circumstance where I'd hold my nose and vote Obama. Chance of that is .001%, I think.

I mean, I am smart enough to understand that you could bet your life's savings right now that whichever R candidate is on the ballot will carry Texas.

Outside of that circumstace OR a situation where Ron Paul wins the R nomination, I'll vote 3rd party and I won't waste a vote on the same two political parties who gleefully throw away my hard-earned tax dollars.

Obama had his chance. I will (probably) vote for Romney and give him a chance. If he gets elected and does nothing to fix the budget, I will vote against him in the next election. The bottom line is that I'm not going to vote for a guy that already had a chance and did nothing.
