Wait...A. Sharpton is an idiot. But gateway pundit is too.
B. I assume a company worries that employees won’t want to come work in a state with the kind of people who think this way.
Some people like mayonnaise. Some like miracle whip.Wait...
B. Which state doesn't have people who are against abortion?
Screw those people. Conservatives are criticized for "judging", but it's okay in this case, naturally.

But it's just not happening that way in practice. It is true that many on the hardcore pro-abortion side are full of tiki-torch-levels of hate for people with the audacity to disagree with them. However, when it comes to making a living, I don't think most will actually refuse to work for a company located in a conservative state. As the Left is quick to point out (and often correctly), employees don't have a lot of leverage on their bosses, because they have to work to live (have a home, food, etc.) They'll talk smack on Twitter, but when it becomes a choice between having a good living in Texas or Indiana or having to take a dump in the street in California or New York because they can't find work or an affordable place to live, they'll suck it up and choose the former. They may hate wearing rubbers so they don't cause pregnancy, but they'll wear them before they'll live in the streets.
You're not wrong. I guess I'm curious what would happen in Texas if the blueberry in the middle of the state got gerrimandered out. Would that impact industry? I almost think it would be smart to fight the base instinct like the Borg and NOT wipe out Austin as a Democratic stronghold to make the state stronger on the whole.Of course all these liberal companies will continue to move from CA to TX because it will save them a lot of money. They'll complain about abortion laws not because they are sensitive to women but because it will cost them some money (still coming out way ahead financially over staying in CA). Every mid to major employer other than Chick-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby will pay to send female employees to a liberal state and back. They won't have to worry about pregnancy as much as you think.

Have you seen the Austin/San Antonio congressional map? Surely there's a sampling of that kind of lunacy in the state maps. I'm not saying both sides don't do it. I'm saying it might help the state of Texas not be as far right if there was a touch more moderation. I'm sure many here would agree that Texas/NY/etc. would benefit from some moderation.I don't think it's possible to gerrymander one side completely out, especially since Texas has Dems all over the major cities and much of the border other than the one big news change this year. I'll be interested to see what penalties states attempt to come up with regarding paying for employees to travel out of state. Massive 'registration fee'?
Yes. And thanks to the disgusting gerrymandering, no matter where I move I cannot escape having Lloyd Dogshit as my representative.Have you seen the Austin/San Antonio congressional map?

Sorry bastard has been in Washington all of my adult life and hasn't done jack squat the whole damned time.

We could take a West Texas county and store all of the Demx with the hazardous waste...we just have to hope the hazardous waste does not become sentient and start asking what IT did to deserve the Demx being dropped on top of it...Yes, I have. I thought you said gerrymander every D out of Texas. That's not possible unless one can toss a few thousand Austinites, Dallasites, Houstonians, El Pasoans, and so on into each other district.
I meant in spirit. I know it's not a practical option. I guess my point is, the GOP has a stranglehold on rural states like Texas. Taking full advantage of the stranglehold seems to hurt you in the eyes of rational moderate people.Yes, I have. I thought you said gerrymander every D out of Texas. Moderates. And “potential” Texans.Do Texans need to worry what moderate non-Texans think? Or do you mean in the eyes of moderate Texans?
We have WAYYYYYY more than enough of those already. And “potential” Texans.
