RIP Wayne Garner

Night Train

My dad passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father last night.

I post here because some of you may have known or met him at Disch Falk. My brother played for the Horns in the mid / late 1980's and some of his fondest memories were at that stadium, in Omaha or somewhere on the road in the SWC.

Some of my fondest memories were listening to his recollections of the Wild Bunch. He really appreciated you guys. In fact, I don't know what he enjoyed more - watching Kevin or listening to Scott Wilson.

Horns up to a wonderful husband, father and Longhorn fan.

I remember your dad and of course your brother Kevin and
yes we did have some good times during those years on
the field and in the stands.

It seems those times have gone for good now as far as
what we used to do in the stands. I will always be glad
we had them for the years we did. I know that we got
to know many of the parents of our players and made
life long friends with lots of them.

Very sorry to hear about Wayne passing. It's good to know
he enjoyed his time at Disch-Falk so much. He will be
missed.

Remember your Dad once talking to Kevin pregame near my seat. You could tell there was a special Father/Son relationship which he evidently had with his entire family.

Thoughts and Prayers to your Family.

I remember Wayne.

He was a good man and he will be missed. May the good Lord care for his soul and bless his family. He is in my prayers for this Christmas season.

I remember Kevin (or Wilma as we sometimes affectionately called him) hitting one of the longest dingers over the RF wall. Hit the back side of the roof of the house.
