RIP Charlton Heston

Holy Moses, that was mildly embarrassing.

Ben Hur is one of the finest example of American cinema ever. Heston acted the hell out of that role. Truly one of America's greatest has passed.

RIP, Mr. Heston. You are missed.

Maybe not a great actor, but a super presence. Sometimes that's all you need, and, in the context of grand historical epics, his lack (or relative disposal) of nuance was perfect. Saying he couldn't act proves you don't understand the information your eyes are gathering.

RIP: i don't know how any rational human being could not agree with his politics-he was a champion of civil rights and a supported of the 2nd amendment...basically a supporter of the united states and our constitution...one of the greats.

While on a field trip to the zoo in his later years, he wandered off and was found in front of the monkey cage screaming, "You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"

I was able to hear Charlton Heston speak on two occassions: 198? at a Victoria College Lyceum event and the 1992 Republican Convention at Bush Sr's rally. He was a very charismatic and passionate individual. You won't see many like him in your lifetime.
