ridiculously unfair...

just heard Ed Wade on the radio saying that he wanted either Round Rock or Tampa Bay. TB didn't make their dome available and Bud said no way they could play in a AAA stadium and that they had no choice in the matter.

I say **** MLB and **** Tampa Bay

now lets go out and **** up the marlins tonight with Roy O pitching

I think the cubs should put the brewers out contention after this series and let's just hope the braves can take a couple from the phils. The way the stros work though is that will happen, then they'll get swept by the marlins.

Maybe they should play in Japan like Boston. **** MLB, Drayton & FOX. This hurricane was not business as usual.

My dislike of the Astros is well-documented on thes boards, but I have to say that Houston really got screwed on this one, and that's a real shame.
It really makes me mad.

Selig's "open letter to fans" in the paper the other day is probably being used to wrap fish or line birdcages all over the greater Houston area.

On a somewhat different note, I didn't realize that Selig went to aggy ... ?

MLB can say what they want, but if this had been the Cubs, Yankees or BoSox then it would have been postponed until the end of the season. They could have played a double-header on Monday and the third game the next day.

To make a team play in those circumstances was ridiculous. There is no excuse. Basically MLB's excuse is that MLB's interest are more important than its players and their families.

The Astros get screwed by this league all the time. Nothing we can really do about it either, especially considering Drayton didn't do a dang thing about it.

How can MLB make us go play in Milwaukee and not make TB let us use their stadium?

Bob-

I cannot imagine MLB would allow them to forfeit. I think if they refused to play the games up there in Milwaukee we would have seen them tack those games on to the end of the season if they were in any way necessary or meaningful. JMO of course.

Even if they would have allowed the forfeit- in retrospect- it would have been beneficial. I think a big part of the broom to the *** in Miami had a lot to do with the hangover and wear and tear (physical and emotional) with what happened at Wrigley North. Impossible to say for sure but I'm still pissed off and probably always will be about how this all went down.

Chicago could have come here thursday night and played the noon game on friday and got the hell out of town before the storm easily enough- leaving only a DH to schedule the day after the season was over if necessary. They refused to get on the plane and so should the astros have.

Of course, I still think Drayton should have told Bud to kiss his *** and leave the roof closed for the WS. He will cowtow to the commish at all times. Only thing I think wrong with the McClain era in H-Town.

I'm assuming charter (isn't that what they fly anyway?)

The airports were open, it was the carriers that shut down. I don't see any reason why a plane couldn't have taken off at 7 in the evening on friday from IAH or Hobby.

It's too bad that due to the absolute need to start the post season right away we couldn't have played the chicago series after the season. because there is absolutely no way there could be more than one game after the season is over....

except if the whitesox just HAVE to play a couple of extra games. they're a chicago team, so it's ok

With the rain delay I was thinking too bad they didn't move that game to a neutral site like Ford field or something. I know it wouldn't be the same b/c the TIgers wouldn't have had the same motivation the cubs did, so maybe they could have been loaned Roy O or something. And then promise him a bulldozer if he wins or something.

imagine if we got to play the cubs after they clinched. like the brewers did.

whatever. i feel aggy now.
