Responsibility for the Running Game

I'm delighted we have Major on campus and coaching, he brings qualities that are obviously advantageous to the program as a whole. However, I begin to wonder how much of the running problem belongs at his feet. I'm not astute enough to separate the running game by coaching responsibility between the OC, RBC and OLC.

Who determines who plays the most?

Are there techniques that the starting RBs lack that could make them more effective?

Is there a talent or development gap that makes Cody Johnson and Fozzy appear to be our more effective runners (at least to the layman's eye)?

Are the OL and RB coaches slave to the Offensive Coordinator's overall scheme and so limited in what they can do that the responsibility for our current lack of a number one runner is not really theirs?

I'd like to hear the thoughts of the cognoscenti, the illuminati and the hoi polloi. (All are welcome) Thanks.

we don't run block well.

interior line of scrimmage is in the back field on a majority of the running plays.......vs not very good DT's.

In the pass oriented team we have become how many reps of run blocking do our guys get in a game? And honestly if we don't start running the ball more earlier in the games were not going to see much improvment. IE Texas Tech. If you look at the rest of the league with pass happy QB's, pro as well as college can you name at least three teams in each league that do both with effectivness. Usually a team hangs there hat on one or the other. I honestly don't feel we should consider ourselves a " sub par" running team but honestly the time we go to the run is late in the game when teams know were just running clock. I don't see Ou, Missouri or Tech's running game performing much better then ours. I haven't compared numbers so i may be wrong. Im just going by the games ive watched.

Yeah...check the stats. Mizzou and OU are far and away ahead of UT. And it's not Daniel and Bradford running for their lives either...
