Religion plays a strange role in Kansas

I don't think that you need to go much farther than Kansas' take on Creationism vs. Evolution to see the strong influence that religion has over the education of kids in that state. But there is a story about a Catholic-ish school in Kansas that has other age old theories that don't jibe with most of America.

I can assure you that the Catholic Church DOES NOT promote any such ignorance.

There are some "out there" nutcase churches that believe that. When we first moved there many years ago there was one in the Pflugerville area that even had problems with female teachers in public schools because they were teaching boys.

They used to publish crazy (to me) rants in the little local paper (Pflugeville Pflag). I always read them because I thought they were funny as ****. I honestly couldn't believe that there were people that stupid out there. I know better now...
