Red McCombs trying to convince Incarnate Word to hire Art Briles.

When Red made his disparaging remarks about the Charlie Strong hire, I remember him saying "I had a really top notch, proven coach at the five yard line, ready to come here and be our head coach." (Something close to that) At the time, I thought he was talking about Jimbo. This makes me think he was talking about Briles. Either way, I'm glad it didn't happen.

Rick,

I assure you that it was neither FIsher nor Briles. Of course, Red never anticipated how badly Powers would hump the puppy.

My faith and my politics have always made me a man who strongly believes in forgiveness and redemption. That said, Red has lost his f*****g mind.

You can question CS play calling if you feel it necessary. But don't question the man's character. (Jeff Ward got in a reporter's face and said that when we ran Fred Akers off for playing defense and not cheating in 1986).

The thought of Briles or Dave Bliss setting foot in Travis county.......oh dear God, the humanity....the humanity.

WTF. I guess at 90, senility is setting in?

Some people with money and influence want to use it to keep in the spotlight the moment they fall out of it, and/or to control as many things that they have an opinion on as possible.

I agree. Wasn't there some potential former Baylor basketball coach hire at an Oklahoma religious school when the ESPN 30 for 30 came out, basically ending that possibility? Whoever was at Baylor when that one player shot the other and he tried to cover it up....

Hopefully, UIW laughed that suggestion off and say NO to Art the Fart. He should never coach at any level again. And...all the Baylor stuff isn’t over. Red needs to quit talking, he only does it just to hear his head rattle.
