Well, I wouldn't say we aren't among the best programs. Over the past decade we're certainly number two behind KU. But to say we are the "best" from Barnes is just too arrogant, myopic, and, as seen by this year (thanks to him) utterly wrong.

In my experience, quotes in press releases are rarely actual quotes. They're written by whoever writes the press release. That said, Rick should have been among the approvers of the release if he was "quoted", but that may not have happened.

I agree with Bob that many took this way too seriously, but I agree with ptown that KU is clearly the strongest program in our league. The evidence is pretty compelling to me.
