Real Mexican, not Tex Mex

I helped my daughter make the quesadillas made with corn tortillas. We made them with chicken (sprinkled with some Adobo spices) grilled over mesquite, grilled onions and peppers and Mexican blend cheese. They were very tasty, but her classmates hardly touched them. Stupid kids scarfed down the "Mexican" corn muffins which were sweet as breakfast muffins, "Mexican" lasagna and crap like that. I couldn't detect any spices or peppers in anything they liked, but hey, this is the Midwest. I'm just happy we didn't waste our time making up a batch of pico de gallo. My pico de gallo is special, so noone eating it may have pushed me over the edge which would have embarrassed by daughter.
