Rangers in rebuild mode

Jon Daniels is planning for next year and I like that he has acquired Corey Knebel and Jake Thompson for Soria, a very solid closer that was a Daniels' reclamation project.

I've been a Rangers fan so long that it's almost part of my baseball biology to "wait until next year." Since Daniels has previously built World Series teams, I'm actually optimistic it will work out for the Ranger Zealots. Baseball is one sport that often rewards patience.

Nothing good is going to happen until:

* They find numbers 1, 3 and 4 pitchers. Yu cannot be a 1 because language is keeping him from being a clubhouse leader, plus he is gone when his current contract is over.

* Fielder and Choo prove to be the players they thought the were getting.

* Gallo is brought up and Beltre is moved to DH to prolong his career.

I think it may take another full year for Gallo to be major league ready. He's hitting homers in Frisco, but the average is down in the 270s.

If the Rangers get a starting pitcher so good Darvish isn't the staff ace, it has the makings of a great rotation. Perez was awesome at the start of the year, but who knows how he will emege from rehab. I don't see any other ace prospects in the high minors, but who knows.

Daniels is catching some flack because there were no trade deadline deals. Personally, I doubt anyone has been so impressed with Ranger performance they were willing part with great prospects for the spare parts the Rangers were offering, Alex Rios, a right fielder who has hit only four home runs this year and Neil Cotts, a decent bullpen performer, but not exactly dominant, even against left handers were offered around, but they were no more valuable to anyone else than they are to the Rangers.

It's not easy to acuire what the Rangers need -- a 1-2 starter, another starter, and a couple of bats, I'm hopeful will include a power hitting oufielder and a DH good enough to put in the lineup every day.

If they can get those pieces, Fielder and Profar back in the lineup every day and a couple among Holland , Harrison and Perez back and pitching like quality starters, then 2016 will mean Happy Days are Here Again.
