Texas is done. They should've torched Saunders but couldn't do anything other than waste opportunities. Now, the Orioles are in their bullpen (a strength this year) and have a 2-1 lead to boot.
I'm not sure what Hamilton's deal is, but he hasn't been the same guy all year--and I just don't mean on the field. Something's going on with him and I bet it's off the field issues. That's the only thing that makes any sense.
So, Yu is at 91 pitches and Wash brings in Holland? Even if it is lefty vs. lefty, Holland has been nothing but trouble lately. Another head scratching move by Wash. I guess the collapse will indeed be complete tonight.
Man, the Rangers seem to be going out with a whimper. The end of this season is almost as depressing as Game 6. From the best record in the AL a week ago to one-and-done in the WC play-in game.
Top of the 9th, 5-1 Baltimore as they score two more runs against a very ineffective Nathan (who had to throw over 30 pitches). 3 more coffin nails (er...um.. outs) to go.
So, has there ever been a team that has had to watch their opponent celebrate/dog-pile after a victory 3 times during the same year (heck, the same week)? Just wondering...
Wash has to go, plain and simple. It's not a knee jerk reaction, he just doesn't know how to handle a Pen, nor a rotation.
All those games of running in Nathan with a 5 run lead, throwing Nathan in all 3 games vs Cleveland in a series, throwing Ross multiple innings early on with maybe a day in between apps.....Man, it's as clear as day. Wash has no clue
Now, if it happens to be Maddux pulling the strings, then HE needs to go. But I seriously doubt that it's him. He was a pitcher, knows overuse when he sees it.
Wwash is the guy who had Mark Lowe in game 6 to close out a World Series....Think about that...Mark Lowe! He had blown his wad early on, had to settle for a choker deluxe to close out a win, and we LOST......That's on Wash, folks. He blew it last year.....I don't know what you'd call this year, but a "success" it was not
Yeah, the Rangers would have been much better off with Bobby Valentine or Jerry Narron. What an odd criticism considering where the Rangers were pre-Wash and today.
His bullpen choices are no different than other teams' choices. It's a matter of executing the pitches and timely contributions from guys who aren't the stars.
