Perez is looking great. With Harrison coming back, the rotation is going to be solid. Choice, Wilson, and Murphy are solid additions. Things are looking good!
Like a walking MASH unit so far this season, this team can be pretty salty when everyone comes off the DL. Great start, much better than expected in light of all the injuries.
That was a sweeeeet sweeeep on the road against a team we will be competing with for the division. Once all these starters come back from the DL (Holland in late June) the good guys are going to have perhaps the best bench in the AL or MLB with all these young players performing well and helping wins games now. I just hope that Harrison and Holland have their "stuff" when they return to the rotation.
Perez and Darvish are definitely are potent 1-2 starters. After that it's pretty dicey. Holding first place while Harrison and Holland get well is encouraging.
Crockett - don't forget Colby Lewis return to the rotation - he seems to be shaking off the rust and pitched 5 good innings the other night in a win. Perez, Yu, Lewis with Harrison coming back (I think next week) and then Holland in late June. That would be a salty 5 man rotation if they all got their good stuff. We will see...
That was total BS by Wash to move Perez off the opening day start. I'm glad the young man didn't let it bother him. He is quickly becoming a quality starter.
WM -- Certainly Lewis had a fine return. But at his age and almost 2 years since he was a regular in the rotation, my feeling is that if he's anywhere close to where he was in 2011 will be a very pleasant surprise.
In my red and blue eyeballs, Wash has been the best manager of the year. As much as I thought Perez should be the Opening Day starter, I think one could say Wash knew what he was doing since Perez has performed beyond expectations.
