Rangers 2013 Ten games in

A better than expected 7-3 start especially considering neither Harrison nor Holland have a win in 4 starts. Berkman is worth every penny they are paying him but you have to wonder just when he will breakdown and be on the DL for extended periods. Signing Elvis seems to have given all of us some comfort that the Rangers have long term planning in place and you cant underestimate what that has done for team peace of mind too.

Darvish is shaping up to be the ace of the staff and the team is scoring runs on a pace that will support the pitching staff without calling on career years for the 3,4, and 5 pitchers to be contenders.

The Angels have started out slowly at 2-7 which makes everyone except die hard angel fans smile. weaver being out a month will really hurt them and if they dont watch out they may dig themselves a hole that they wont be able to climb out of once they start playing to the potnetial they have.

Oakland has started strong and if I didnt have last year seared into my brain I would write that they should cool off soon and be a non factor in August/September.

Nolan is staying on as CEO so there is at least for now peace in our time with management too.

All in all you have to like where the Rangers stand ten games in with a very long season to come.

Yeah, it's fun to watch the Angels dig a hole for themselves. The Angels linup lineup, on paper, is amazingly potent. I think Puljos was the best bat since 2000 and Trout is the best batter 2013 going forward. Hamilton has been an MVP. But with Puljos limping, Hamilton in a funk and Weaver on the DL, they have barely left the starting line. Breaks even out, but all the ground lost is ground that has to be made up and there are a finite number of games.

7-4 now staring 7-5 in the face going against King Felix tonight, but probably as good as they could have hoped for. Harrison and the inability to hit in colder weather are the disappointments so far. They mailed in the Wednesday game against a pitiful Tampa Bay team and never were able to do anything in the cold last night in Seattle. (Yes Seattle has a retractable roof - it rides on rails to keep the rain out - otherwise it is an outdoor stadium.) Not only will this series be in the cold, the 3 games in the Friendly Confines are expected to be in the low 40's next week.

The cold weather will go away and hopefully Harrison will solve his issue. Lewis cannot be back to soon.
