The blatantly bigoted comments by some of the Baylor faithful is disgusting. Everything isn't for everybody, but live and let live without spewing hate. Why any recruit, who is of today's accepting and inclusive mentality, would choose to attend that school is beyond my comprehension.

That’s just terrible news for Prince. Truly. Never want to see a player’s career come to an end due to injury. Sadly she had more than her share of injuries. Devastating. Wish her well as she pursues a professional career.

Oh and so glad she finally got to see the “best doctors in the world” there in Eugene, population 178,883. Wish we had some of those here in Austin.

Once a duck, always a duck.

UTSA only won 2 games in 20-21. In Karen Aston’s first year they increased that total to 7 wins last season.

UTSA opened last season losing by 27 to SFA; they opened again at SFA tonight and lost by just 5, 68-63. SFA won 28 games last season and is predicted to win the WAC this season.

USC transfer Jordyn Jenkins is going to lead KA to a lot more than 7 wins this year. Their next game is at TCU, will be interesting to see if they can knock off the horned frogs who barely escaped with a win at home against Lipscomb earlier today.

Hoping KA does well in San Antonio. I'll be keeping an eye on that TCU game for sure.

Unlike the lopsided games from opening night, a "real" game between ranked teams Tennessee and Ohio State is on BTN tonight. Should be a great measuring stick for Texas and opportunity to see how other ranked teams are faring early in the season.

I watched Louisville play Cincinnati last night on AACN, we will likely play Louisville in the Atlantis tourney. Their high scorer was a 5'7'' guard who scored 28 points 12/20 shooting. They only had two other players score in double figures. They allowed Cincinnati to score 68 points.

Wow Tennessee is awful at handling pressure. They allowed Ohio state to turn them over 11 times in the 3rd quarter and about 7 of those turnovers came from trouble handling the full court press. Ohio state is nowhere near Texas in terms of their defense so imagine what Texas can do to them. They have no good ball handlers whatsoever so hopefully we match up with them in the upcoming tournament.

Ohio state forces three more turnovers in the first minute of the 4th. Tennessee can’t even get it past half court  I’m not trying to sound dramatic but I have not seen such poor ball handling and execution like this in a college game before. Tennessee legit looks like a JV team trying to handle their pressure.

I'm watching the same game and you are spot on Jacob. I thought Tennessee was going to run away with it in the first half, but OSU would have none of that in the second half. Tennessee has 29 turnovers so far

The Vols will learn and will improve. Don't rely on the transitive property too heavily.
Oh for sure I just think if I’m Vic and Texas plays Tennessee that is something you have to smile about. That was the worst game of seen of a team trying to handle full court pressure in a couple years. Many D3 teams would do better than that. I’m just saying that is the first thing Texas should do in preparing for them if we do play them. They are also very out of shape.

It comes down to coaching the details (or not). That definitely wasn't a good look for Kelly Harper with all that talent and depth.

Wow, Tennessee looked BIG and SLOPPY! I certainly wasn't expecting that with all their returning players and excellent transfers. Harper needs a ball handler, FAST (well, maybe after we play them)!:D

Here are highlights of the Tennessee-Ohio State game.
  • Mikesell of Ohio State had 25 points.
  • Jordan Horston of Tennessee scored 20 pts; Jasmine Powell (transfer from Minnesota) had 19 pts; and Rickea Jackson was held to 9 points.

  • As discussed, Tennessee had 29 turnovers; 7 from Horston and 5 each by Jackson and Powell.

Watched the game and it definitely didn’t go the way I thought it would go. If Ohio St had been able to hit ANY shots in the first half it would have been over sooner. After Tennessee went into the locker at the Half with 12 turnovers, I assumed they’d come out with an adjustment only to see 11 (I think) more in the 3rd quarter alone.

In the wake of Duncanville girls basketball being banned from the playoffs, the Athletic Director has been reassigned and former Longhorn WBB player Kenya Larkins has been named interim director.

Ashlyn Watkins of South Carolina just threw down a 1 handed dunk on a fastbreak at the end of their game against Clemson that felt like the score was about 100-2.

From ESPN, according to sources:

“2021 WNBA MVP Jonquel Jones is being traded from the Connecticut Sun to the New York Liberty in a deal that's expected to be finalized Sunday night, sources told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.

Jones, a four-time All-Star, requested the trade specifically to New York; she had one more year on her contract with the Sun, who recently brought in a new head coach in Stephanie White.”
