The improved secondary play has been astonishing to me. We had very good athletes back there last year, but the overall play was average at best. Now it’s a challenge for teams to complete a pass downfield.
One thing I find interesting is that you hardly hear Manny Muhammad’s name called during a game. I suspect that’s because teams don’t want to throw that way.

Eh, to me the Horn went off the air months ago when they butchered up the lineup and fired them all. There's only so many times I could hear Rod Babers talk about how good he is at predicting things and how the coaches should listen to his advice. I tuned out a long time ago.

Well, last year we lost to Dillon Gabriel on a last second TD (he is at 73% completion this year, and #1 in nation—we may see him again) and to Michael Penix on a day he was unbelievable (#2 Heisman, #8 in 1st round draft). in the semifinal. Those are really good QBs.

And both left-handed. I hate playing left handed quarterbacks, their tendencies are opposite of 95% of what the defense sees during the year. Having said that it probably doesn't matter this year as the d-line is very fluid on where they line up in passing downs, for example Simmons has been inside several times and seemed to act as a spy on the qb (not my preferred role for him ever).
