CFB Realignment -
Realignment rewind: How latest round of movement affected CFB
The author, like the aggies, are still living off of Manziel's two seasons. Outside of that "once in 50 years aberration" (aggies finish in top 5 once every 50 years), the agggies to sec have been a fail except for extracting more dollars from the alumni.

By the way the smart aggies are wising up to the bait and switch

Some notes from TFB --

Just to reitterate what Andrew has already said, I also heard that JUCO LB, Gary Johnson is a monster. A source told me that Johnson is, “faster than some of the DBs”. – (Super K)

"Damion Miller: As we’ve previously mentioned, Texas star WR commit, Damion Miller had not yet made it to campus. I spoke with a source last week who told me that Miller was expected to make to campus for the second summer session. However, I did check today with a source on the Texas side and was told that he is not there yet. So we shall see what comes of this.

Outside of Miller, Jordan Pouncy was the only other receiver Texas signed in the 2017 class. Based on my conversations with folks on the Texas side, I don’t get the sense that Pouncy will be an instant impact guy, especially given the fact that there are some veteran guys on campus. Miller was the guy in this class who really brought exceptional speed to the table. Having seen him live myself, I can say that he is an absolute menace at the tail end of his routes. You think you’ve got him covered and at the last minute he can turn on an extra gear and pull the ball out of the air. – (Super K)"

Reese Leitao = all "positive" so far
Coaches purportedly saying he's “even better than they thought he’d be.”
Looks to not only play as true freshman, but be a significant part of the offense
Pretty open depth chart doesnt hurt

Gary Johnson “pound-for-pound the best athlete on the team”
Caveat - they have not been in pads yet
Word for now, he will start at Mack next to Malik Jefferson

Jean Delance will be given a chance at RT
Right now its Tristan Nickelson and Denzel Okafor (with Brandon Hodges transferred out)
JP Urquidez is getting the practice reps behind Connor Williams at LT

I'm excited about G. Johnson. Collin, too, but Gary reminds me of guys like Drew Kelson and Keenan Robinson. Always going full speed (but not overpursuing like we've seen with Malik) and have a nose for the ball.

IT thinks WR Damion Miller and JUCO TE Kendall Moore to enroll around the time Fall practice starts. But no word on JUCO DT Jamari Chisholm for now

All of them missed second summer school session. But they are still optimistic they will make it before fall practice starts.

Notes from Herman luncheon --

He feels like players are doing really well with S&C. He said some players could bench more than they could squat before this new staff arrived.

He feels comfortable at depth ONLY at 2 positions, Safety and WR. Nobody at TE, but says he can live with that this season.

Won't rotate Defensive players out a lot so that will stay, but rotate a lot of WR out and in.

Wants the aggy game back, but not his decision.

He said Malik and him both agreed in spring that media appearances aren't important. The spotlight can come later. And he's focusing on being better LB.

RS freshman Tope Imade has been moved to defense
To NT 3-man fronts and 3-tech in 4-man fronts

The 3-4 is supposed to be Orlando's primary scheme this year, but he will use both

Saw that story also and was struck by the "source" that also said Tope is 23% body fat and 300 #. Wow! He must look like Tarzan and I hope this is something that a lot of the players are achieving.

Interesting. I thought we were pretty deep at NT or DT in a 4 man front? Where we're paper thin is DE for either front. Seems like all our DT guys are 300+. How many of those guys can spin out to DE in a 3 man front?

I think because of the Fox (or whatever Herman will call it) position, we're not "needing" the traditional DE's to rotate as much, because it'll be a rotation with guys listed at LB on the Spring depth chart.
