Problem with sprinkler system - Any ideas?

Update:

It was a rain sensor issue. The same day that my dad snapped our faucet, he spotted a small recepticle looking thing on the edge of our roof line and told me it looked like an old antenna hookup. It had some speaker wire running down from it and in to the ground.

I didn't need such an antenna and the wire kept me from being able to edge that area, so I clipped the wire, thus creating my problem. The repair guy re-wired the system to eliminate the rain sensor, which never kept our system from going off when it rained anyway.

The lesson I learned here is that I need to keep my Dad away from my house.
