Yeah. I think this will be a good, hard fought ball game. I'll be surprised if it's not very close. Both teams are physical, tough big 10 style teams. However, I think Penn State is more "battle tested" than Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame caught a good Georgia team that seemed to be a bit banged up and tired. Your score prediction looks about right, give or take a few points either way.

Either Texas or Ohio State versus Penn State for the championship. I don't think Penn State is quite good enough to beat either one.

It is too bad that either has to win. I think ND has the better talent but Penn State has played the tougher schedule. I will not root for either,but I think ND wins handily. ND is always lucky and has refs in hand.

I would re-seed the "final four" and put Ohio State and Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl and Texas and Penn State in the Cotton Bowl.

ND is the only team left that PSU matches up with and can score with. I think Penn St should win, but the House of Mouse will definitely want ND in the final game, so any close calls will go to ND. Hopefully, they want a throwback championship game to the 69, 70 and 77 (the games played on Jan. 1 70,71 and 78) Cotton Bowl matchups. Two of those didn't work out real well for the good guys.

I never made it that far east. I spent a year out on Diego Garcia, flew missions on the P3. Those were good times. I was a 22 year old punk with no bills, no girlfriends or wives, no cares in the world. I left the island with a years worth of pay, which in 1978 was around $8000. I felt like a millionaire, until they made us stay at Pearl Harbor for a month on the way back to SoCal. I found a way to spend most of it there.
