Predict Horns Vs OUsux!

I'm very concerned with the injuries on D, especially among the youthful DB's. WV passed for over 350 yards last week - I expect the gooners to exploit with the pass.

Somehow the Horns play just enough D and Sam delivers a close win, something like:

44-41

It's worth noting that WVU threw the ball more against us (66% of their plays) than they did against any of the other teams they've played this year. They knew our secondary is our weakness and OU knows it too. Without so many injuries I'd be picking us to win but...

52-42 Oklahoma

Prove me wrong, Horns :hookem:

Weather is cooling off, with rain expected on Friday and then again late Saturday...so given the accuracy of a lot of forecasts (/end sarcasm mode), we could see a field that is damp on Saturday morning. That can be problematic for holding on to the ball, both as a rusher and as a receiver...to say nothing of the impact it has on the defenders making their cuts.

I see points being scored on both sides of the ball, but I *ALSO* see a total of seven turnovers (including two muffed punts) between the two teams. Passes that are on target will be dropped...again, by both teams.

Duvernay is not able to be shut down, even by a runaway Schooner that tips over and tries to block his path to the ball.

Sam doesn't put up monster numbers but does post a very efficient stat line.

Because neither defense can really stop a competent offense, we see a total combined yardage total that is in four digits.

Taking all of that into account plus the history of The Binder as a dog, especially as a double-digit dog, I'm calling it...

Texas- 37
Land Thieves- 31

Texas not only covers 10.5 but wins it outright.

(and yes, if the items listed above come true, I DO want bonus points...)

The obligatory reminder needs to be placed that there is still time to acquire and properly chill your cans or cases of Oklahoma Sux brew...

just sayin' ;)

I think OU will pass early and often on us and JH will get a lot of scrambling yards. Too much for our D to handle and the offense will not be able to outscore OU.

Texas - 38
OU Sucks - 45

Had a very interesting phone conversation at lunch with HF poster BaoklaHorn who lives in Tulsa. He is dialed in to sports talk shows up there and has ou friends. He had a very encouraging scouting report on the sooners and why he thinks the Horns will win.

I strongly encouraged him to post a new thread on HF today as I cannot remember every point he made or how he phrased it....

He said ou fans are very concerned and nervous about playing the Horns Sat. As you know, they normally they are not like that...

Concerned about how this will be officiated. Oline holding calls and physicality between receivers and DBs, maybe unnecessary roughness, will tell the tale...good or bad. Would you bet against this??
Hope I'm wrong
Tough...

TEXAS. 38
Those who suck and shall remain nameless. 41
