My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 1986 (at the age of 65)and she has had a slow, but steady decline for the last 17 years...many of those years have been very difficult for both her and my siblings. I have never placed her in a nursing home and have kept her with 2 full time live in caregivers the last several years. The doctors are amazed that she has lasted 17 years, but I know its because of the care we have been able to give her. I have lived in the same house with her all these years and have been thru it all with her. She is now bed ridden (although we do put her in a wheel chair),but she cannot talk anymore or so anything for herself.
I put her in the hospital 3 days ago because she was not doing well... the doctors have found she has gallstones and that one is probably lodged in her bile duct where it connects to the small intestine...they are going in on Monday morning to either dislodge it and have it go into her small intestine so that it can pass thru her body ......or it could very well be a tumor that is causing the obstruction....If it is a tumor..then she wont last long....if its a stone....all will be fine....I ask for your prayers and that God is merciful with her...I hope it is just a stone...but if it is cancer...that she not suffer....Many thanks everybody...
