It sucks to make back to back posts like this.
I just got a call from my mom. They are up at the Austin Heart Hospital. My dad was complaining of chest pains at work, so they're admitting him and running tests. They were with me at the lake this past weekend for my birthday. Got to go fishing with my dad for the first time in forever. Saturday night he complained of some chest pains while we watched the Spurs game. He had no pain radiating down the arm....just in the shoulder area.
He's in constant pain. He had rhumatoid arthritis for 3 years in his mid 20's so bad that it almost made him bed ridden. He managed to keep going to work, but had to lean against the wall as he walked. The pain has been with him ever since. He's 59 now.
He talks about how he wants to live to be 120 like Moses and get as much money out of IBM and the State as he can through his retirements. haha But then he has a dark outlook at times too. How his brother died at 50. His dad died at 56. Sure, they drank and smoked and lived a bad lifestyle overall. But he still has the same genes.
I'm rambling. I just can't fathom it being serious and him not being here. He's the best man I know. From where he came from to where he is now. The numerous hardships he's had to endure. The way he's not let them change him. He hasn't blamed the things that have happened to him and become bitter person.
I'm on my way up to the hospital right now. Pray for him please.
