My cousin, Tom Hebert, is finally getting a much needed kidney transplant. Even though he went to UH he is a huge Longhorn fan. He makes as many UT games as he can, but his dialysis needs hold him back. Please keep Tom in your prayers so that the new kidney will not be rejected. Tom's long illness has cost his family so much in mediacl bills and lost time from his job. If you wuold like to help, there is a foundation for tax deductible donations at:

All I can offer is prayers, but I will do so gladly and faithfully. My best to Tom, and God bless him.

Tom had the surgery and is recovering. His new kidney has not fully yet kicked in, but we are hopefull. Thank you for your prayers.

Unfortunately, Tom's new kidney could not start up and it suffered damage from necrosis. The doctors had to take it back out. Tom now has a fever that the doctors can't figure out. They have taken him off of all of his medication. As you can imagine, it's rough to go through the surgeries he has and not get any pain management. I am now praying that Tom will be able to go to a Longhorn game with me this fall.

Prayers and thoughts...
The link stated that 62,000 persons in the US are awaiting a kidney donor. Wow.

Please update us on Tom's condition, and do pass along our best wishes to him. Let him know we care.

WOW, I did not know there were post about me on a Longhorn website. Yes, this is Tom. I am not sure if anyone as followed up on this since "B"s last post.

I am doing well, recovering from the 3 surgeries that I had. Yes, it is unfortunate that the kidney never took and that I had to have it removed shortly after it was put in.

I am back at work and back to my old dialysis routine. I should be at two UT games this year Sam Houston and Baylor.

To be quite honest with you all, I am not even sure who "B" is, I have an idea, but I am sure blessed to have them in my family thinking of me and spreading the word.

I want to thank all of you in Longhorn Nation, for sending thoughts and prayers my way.

Tom

Tom,

I can assure you that many of us have been keeping you in our prayers.

Is it possible that you could have another transplant at a later time?

Prayers that you continue to do well.

Texanne, there is always a possibility of a transplant, it is just a matter of when. It is classic "hurry up and wait".

I have faith that it will happen in due time.

Tom
