Here's the latest as from today's Texas visit to DGB's high school...

**Mack, Wyatt, Harsin & Applewhite made the trip up to Springfield, Mo. today and word from a source close to DGB has reported that Texas' visit Thursday went "about as good as those visits can go."!

*ar-kansas asst. coaches were in home this eve... ar-Kansas HC Bobby Petrino did not make an in-home/in-school visit... reportedly because Petrino 'bumped into' DGB in San Antonio and someone turned them in. So NO HC visit for arky...

*Texas & ar-Kansas are in the thick of it along with Mizzou for DGB!

*DGB will make an OV to Mizzou this weekend...

Signing announcement was to be made on ESPN/ESPNU (I think) on Feb. 1st at 2:30. but appears that it has been changed to 8:00am to suit TV. Will confirm both before next Wednesday...

T-Minus 5 days, 5 hours, 30 minutes and counting...

Cant shake feeling that this kid is headed to arkysaw. Hope that isnt what happens but that seems best guess.

I am thinking the message from UT coaches is that they are building a championship offense. An offense that is missing only one piece, and that DGB is that missing piece. If those 4 coaches making an in-home visit don't get the job done then there is nothing more Texas can do.

As poor as our QB play was this year it is still being pretty exaggerated. David Ash, all things considered (True Frosh) didn't perform so poorly that anyone should have the impression that he couldn't be a pretty decent QB...imo

And if QB is a question mark we should sell the fact that Malcolm, Joe and Jon are going to have defenses needing to key on our running game...

Viper, you are such a great online ambassador. I guess you are so simply naive enough to believe that recruits don't read your spew!

Last ten Biletnikoff winners:

2001, Josh Reed, LSU
2002, Charles Rogers, Michigan State
2003, Larry Fitzgerald, Pittsburgh
2004, Braylon Edwards, Michigan
2005, Mike Hass, Oregon State
2006, Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech
2007, Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech
2008, Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech
2009, Golden Tate, Notre Dame
2010, Justin Blackmon, Oklahoma State
2011, Justin Blackmon, Oklahoma State

I am thinking that the running threat for Texas would make it a nighmare to double up on DGB. He could get man coverage on any route he chooses.

If he's doubled up, and if he stretches the defense, it leaves gaping holes in the interior of the defense if Brown, Bergeron or Gray break into that area. Especially Gray who is more than capable of juking his way for a lot of extra yards.

It would not be unreasonable to get 10 balls per game thrown DGB's way. If -- as he wishes -- they are all catchable. Then he gets 8 or 9 receptions per game for 100+ yards, one or two TDs, and that's just an average not counting blow-out situations.

The x-factor.... Jaxon Shipley is out there posing problems if he's not covered. So... DGB, Ship... then one or more backs coming out of the backfield. Sounds offensive to me.

Oh, Cayleb Jones. What are you going to do about him once his wheels get rolling!

win-win

I cant remember the last time we had this much action this late. goes to show the new coaches are working there tails off and it seems to be working

so it sounds like it was an 'at school' visit, and then they may have gotten him off campus for a little bit as well

does anyone have info on what happened with the actual 'in home' with mack? it doesn't sound like that happened. seems like the actual in home with the folks would be really key

I do not remember the quote or where I read it but in an interview DGB mentioned enjoying catching passes from Connor at the all star game practices. They were teammates and hope that connedtion is a factor.

Oldsheimers! I am calling to make reservations at the home.

Wish I could find it. I waa thinking Connor was injured and I remember they had to borrow a qb from the other team. Guess the two games have merged in my brain.
I guess there was a story about the UT connection in the UA geme and of course there was a bigger UT connection at the UA game. At any rate hope Applemack made a lasting impression.

I think you were getting T Johnson confused with DGB. This is what T Johnson said after he had decommitted from Tech and Aggies while at the all-star game and before comitting to Oregon and now maybe committing back to Aggie.......I think. Not sure where he is committed to at the present moment.

Viper, once again you express your naivety. Your use of "championship QB" demonstrates it. Ash was a true frosh with limited snaps in what was his 1st two a days. Then he was constantly shuttled in and out of rotation which denied him continuity. So, tell me how in the world you had expectations that he would be of championship caliber last year? Besides that, you failed, once again, to address my real question which was what good it does to use your venom on our team by badmouthing our team in front of recruits, prior to NSD? In fact, it could do much harm to our team!

Since 1999 Mack Brown has put three quarterbacks into the NFL that started most games of a season for their respective teams.

Bob Stoops has put one and that was relatively recently.

Please tell me more about how Bob Stoops is a better developer of Quarterbacks?

The spew some people throw out, myself included, is so ridiculous sometimes.

Landry Jones will be a decent backup for a couple of years in the NFL at best. His highlight will be starting one or two games in his career.

I see what your saying major... but he could argue the same by saying 2 heisman winners.
I think Ash will develop nicly now that he will be the guy... not the guy behind GG, or the guy sharing time with Case. Ash will have all the snaps and will have every chance to succeed just like they did GG. Until he has that chance and fails I will give him the benafit

No way he comes here with our questionable quarterback situation. We are no better than third on his list of three.

Looks like now it's down to us vs. Mizzou. Parents are for us, but it depends on the selling job at Mizzou this weekend. Stay positive folks, we have a good shot that he moves into an Orange House!!

OU still thinks they have him. More rumors then truth out there right now. Not sure who you believe so just wait and see.
