What's with the recent political fetishizing of drag queens? These stories kinda surprise me. Link 1 and Link 2. The Democrats have been relatively pro-gay basically my entire adult life, but they generally discouraged flying the freak flag. The tendency was always to embrace elements of the gay community that appeared "normal" and respectable. They stayed away from the dudes walking in parades in assless chaps with whips and chains and would never have gotten anywhere near a drag queen, because they knew how screwed up that looked to families (and frankly anyone who wasn't a total friggin' crackpot). You certainly wouldn't have seen a prominent statewide officer from a swing state or a member of the House Democratic leadership embracing drag culture and saying anything associated with it is "what America is all about." It must be the echo chamber of Twitter telling them that this is politically acceptable.

It's our version of Mao's Cultural Revolution but with smut. The same thing happened in Weimar Germany right before the Nazis took over. Sexual degeneracy of the Communists there was one reason why Germans got on board with Hitler.

This is what Communists do though. They try to break down society so that they can foment revolution.

Go woke. Go broke. But ... no mention of that in the article.

Why Did Pixar's Lightyear Disappoint at the Box Office? - Variety

It's Variety. They can't be honest. They point to things like how it's hard to explain the spin-off, and that's a crock. You don't have to explain that to a little kid. You tell him the movie is about Buzz Lightyear, and every Toy Story-loving kid is going to want to see it whether he understands all the connections to the original series or not.

I also don't think the Tim Allen issue hurts that much either. Kids know Buzz, not a guy who was on a hit sitcom in the '90s. But are there large numbers of parents who will hesitate to bring their young children to a movie that shows two dudes kissing? Yes.

Very few in any media outlet will be honest about it. Can you imagine the hate towards the newspaper that writes "Lightyear could have made $20 million more if it didn't prominently feature two gays." I picked $20M since the box office was $50M and the estimates were $70M, but feel free to sub $10M, $30M, whatever number realistically represents US audiences who were turned away.

This is a good example of a liberal commentator not knowing his opposition as well as they know him. He thinks he's owning the Right, when he's owning himself.

I think that the respect for normal American families is over for Disney. It has actually been over for 30 years, but they at least pretended until recently. It's good in a way. The false pretense is gone, and everybody pretty much knows where they stand. They're basically like any other raunchy Hollywood operation but with a fetish for children.

Will be interesting to see if that one underperforms too. At some point, execs will feel the heat to make films that meet or exceed expectations.
I wish someone would start a streaming service for conservative viewers. I'm not talking about all-religion all the time, or just right wing stuff but really just dialing back the clock on TV morals about 40 years. "Family Ties", "Cosby Show" and that sort of TV. There is enough interest for it, but the down side is that they would become the same kind of target in the media world as Chic-fil-A.

Sounds like you want an old TV shows and films streaming service. Nothing wrong with that. There probably already is one, but I'm too lazy to search. However, putting Cosby Show on there might get you canceled quickly.

I've never seen it, but I've heard it's one of these shows that the critics didn't like but that the audiences did.
My wife and I liked it. He and Nancy Travis. Conservatives claim it was run out due to politics but the showrunner was a huge Democrat. It was a good show but it had kind of run its course. Most TV shows have a 5-8 year window at 22 episodes a year and they run out of new things to do.

I'm not really saying i want reruns, just shows that fit in with that moral model. With the plethora of shows that come out these days you gotta think production costs have gone way down. Surely they could produce new content with more historical values.

Okay - so not just a streaming service but also a production house making its own content. That's pretty expensive.

For old TV shows, there are free TV apps that are great. I have been watching Night Court again. An amazing show on many levels.

I think that is starting but it is in the infancy. Daily Wire and The Blaze are looking into content like that.

Olbermann is an all time great Democrat. He'd love a society where women couldn't be elected and blacks could be enslaved.
