Give him a break. It is a hard time and he loves this team. I would hate to sit in a pressie like that after a heartbreaking loss. I am a full blooded orangeblood so I respect him for taking up for his team. It really has to hurt to lose like that.
 
Apparently the new trend in sports is that games don't determine who the better team is anymore. see tex-ou 08. Polls, opinions, media, how bad someone whines, saying your taking the high road and not whining but actually continuing to whine but because you said are taking the high road espn doesn't think your whining, who has the better uniform, who runs up the score, who's pitcher is the greatest ever determines which team is the best not subjective bias things like "scores" or "games" or "tournaments". It's why cfb doesn't have a playoff. They don't want things like "scores" or "games" or "tournaments" to ruin their fair system. Everyone watching this tourne is thinking "this sport is so ****** up with this whole playoff concept. A&M and fullerton should be playing for the championship, not TX and LSU."

Yeah, don't know what that was about. You threw the best pitcher you had at Texas twice, and you lost twice. If that doesn't determine who is the better team, what does?

So, he was obviously referring to the fact that UNC was better than ASU and deserved to be playing Texas.
 
I think Augie understands better than most that being a champion is based on execution. Talent alone does not get you there.

Dude's douchebag attitude is part of the reason his team is packing their bags.
 
Actually I cut him a little slack. I know he truly believes in his heart that his team was the best and they are hurting really bad right now so it was more to boast them.

Do I agree with him? absolutely not. We beat the best they had. Nuf said
 
I pity him but feel sorry for the Sun Devil players, their families and fans who get lumped in with this tampon string of a coach. His words will speak for them, sadly.

Poor sportsmanship from the dry heat Devils v. the better and more class Longhorns does not produce. Think back to Rudy Carpenter and what became of him and the team he fielded v. the premier team from Texas, the Longhorns. His head may still be ringing.

I think that tomorrow he will regret what he said and realize what a classless poor sport he sounds like and may well be. But it will be too late then. Too bad you don't matter, ASU. ASwho?

Look, the guy still thinks his team is best, that is fine. That doesn't make him a dick. That means he loves his team. Let it go.
 
Apparently "the best team not winning "is a Pac 10 phenomenon. He is just another Pac 10 p%$%^%ssy like California in 2004, USC in 2005, the ASU quarterback in whatever bowl that was, now ASU baseball.
 
I'll cut him some slack when the rest of the world cut's our coaches some slack.

The world crucified Augie in the media for days when he chose to leave and be silent he ignored the other team, he did not have the audacity to claim in public his losing team was the better team.

The world continues to crucify Mack for ASKING people to consider who played the stronger schedule (ala Cal), or who won head to head (ala OU).

When the world treats this guy that way...I'll cut him some slack.
