porsche boxster fans

One other thing to consider, and this one will sound crazy. I would buy a car that has been driven. I would not buy a garage queen. from my exntensive experience with Porsche the cars that are driven are the ones that last a very very very long time, and are virtually trouble free aside from your routine **** like oil changes, occasional burned headlight, brakes, etc. The garage queen cars that sit, and do not ever get driven are the one that are always in the shop. I would buy one that has been driven at least 8k miles per year. so a 4 year old car I would look for something with 30k ish miles on it. I know that sounds absurd, but I can assure you it is almost without fail the law on Porsche. That also brings up something for when you buy yours. Drive it. Drive it often, and drive it hard.

Interesting 911, omni has been telling me the same thing - don't get a garage queen because they need to be driven. Professionally I can relate because I sell some high dollar medical analyzers that are the same way, sit around and you will have problems, run them and they will last too long as far as I am concerned.
Ya know just when I think I have 'maturedly' said I am prepared to wait on this decision for a few months someone makes a comment like yours - drive them a lot and drive them hard and I get fired up to start seriously looking right now.
thanks for all the counsel and good advice. This is a fun and informative thread.
