Poor Aggies

I simply love the title of this thread.
No need for commentary...
The title is the thread, and the thread is the title...
And it's content, context, and relevant items/aspects are all contained therein.

Time to recycle this: I always hire aggy bartenders for my parties so I can yell "Poooooour aggies" whenever someone wants a drink.

Aggie bartenders, huh?

A man walks into a bar and strikes up a conversation with the bartender. The man asks the bartender: “Do you want to hear a good aggie joke?” The bartender says: “Before you tell it, I’d like to let you know that I’m an aggie, that guy next to you is an aggie, and these two girls on your other side are aggies too. So now, do you still want to tell your aggie joke?”

The man says: “Nahhhh. I don’t want to have to explain it four times.”

I did not know that aggy was competent enough to pass BARTENDER school and serve people decent drinks.

That article is odd and he admits to arbitrary tiers. There's no reason that the state schools without "University of..." in their name shouldn't be in that first tier. It's a semantic thing and has nothing to do with actual college sports prowess.

One of the main points of the article was that aggy and their coach would not like this ranking....in other words, 'little brother' jealousy. Just posted this for fun, and to tweak aggy a bit.
Sorry, i guess not everyone gets it.

I have known several aggie graduates and aggie sports fans over the years and most are good people… UNTIL you bring up UT and they transform into a different person.. The one thing that i have noticed is they all ways talk about what Texas did not accomplish… Never talk about what they have accomplished which is very little… Example being from an aggie co worker enjoy that third place finish at the CWS.. Never thinking that they have 2 victories in 6 tries all time

Or they talk how Texas gets all the calls in the big games.

Yes, for many aggy it is about UT failures or shortcomings over the years and NOT on aggy much greater shortcomings in the big 3: (football, basketball & baseball).

While aggy was still in SWC & Big 12 - throw in UT dominance in Mens & Women's Swimming & Diving, Softball, Golf, Tennis, and somewhat track & field.

How many conference and NC were won in those sports for decades by UT over aggy?

Similarly, most A&M grads I've known are reasonably intelligent people when you deal with them one-on-one. It's when they're in groups that they turn into aggy.

I've known more than several aggies and with a few exceptions they've all been good people. Over forty years ago I had a step sister who was a student at A&M. One weekend she brought her boyfriend home to meet everyone. He and I and my dad were talking on the back patio and he told us the only reason he was in the corps was he wanted to be in the band. He didn't care anything about the rest of it.

That was one of the reasons I never considered A&M. I wanted to be in band in college and didn't want to join ROTC.

In 1966 I visited there with my Aggie cousins. Small school with lots of khaki and not many females. Easy decision not to go

Still a great school though and I offered my stepsons a free ride. One went to Texas and the other to Kingsville. So proud of them.

Your mistake is trying to make sense out of aggy. There is no rhyme or reason to these people.

You know as i have posted on here before i don’t see the need for conference pride smack talk… But aggie did not need to run off to sec land to achieve success… All one has to look at is the year the big 12 just had in sports… Mens big 3 NC in basketball (pains me to say it) Baylor..Football OU sucks Playoff..Baseball 3rd place CWS Texas… And Nc in Swimming for Texas and success in minor sports for mens sports in Tennis etc.. Womens big 3 sports Ou sucks NC in softball… Volleyball Texas national runner up .. Basketball Baylor elite 8 … Texas directors cup championship.. You can achieve national success in the big 12.. Aggie has never had any natl success in any of these sports outside of womens basketball.. Now there in a much deeper conference and results are the same but hey We SEC..

Agree. I think they'd have more success if they stayed in the Big 12 - not losing to Alabama every year. Take the Manziel 2012 team. Lost to UF and LSU but demolished OU in the Cotton Bowl. KSU was the only other good team from the Big 12 that year so I'll count that as an aggy loss. That'd make them 12-1...

Ya'll can make all the aggie jokes all you want but the way they are recruiting is no joke. They are going to be a force in the coming years and they will be on our schedule. These will be highly contested games on the order of the OU games.

And then came November...
