Pluckers

maybe i'm spoiled by the wingstop location i always went to, but they had some of the best wings i've had.

but i will take TBC's advice and leave you gentlemen to it... i don't want to be a martyr over a chicken wing.

Pluckers was good my freshman year at Towers. After then, they dropped waffle fries for nasty-*** wedge fries (though from the comments above, they have evidently reinstated the waffle fries), increased their wing night prices from $.30 to $.40, decided that actual meat on chicken wings is a bad thing, and decided that service is a bad thing. Pluckers ******* sucks. Cain and Abel's has better food.

However, the fried pickles at Pluckers are ******* amazing.

I live about 2 blocks from the Wing Stop on South Lamar so that's my default wing place. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Plucker's to South Austin. I'll finally be able to start using all those stupid coupons I get at UT games.

I'm not a huge wing fan, but the couple of times I've been to WingStop, it sucked ***. Got four different flavors of wings and they all tasted the same. I'm all for drinking and eating cheaply, so Pluckers sounds good to me.

where is the new pluckers by campus going? near the cain & ables???

if they can get good parking it might not be bad. i do enjoy the location on 183. the service is nice, the wings are good and their prices are good.

i do wish they would show games in HD though. they have 2 HD tvs but due to the time delay, they don't show it in HD. i wish they would just say screw it and show the big game on the HD screens and have the other games on something else.

I hope to hell all of you who like the place are pluckers club members. Ive probably gotten $200 in free food there over the 2 years I've had it. We go to lunch there at work about once a month, and you get 5-10 people together and all the $$ goes towards points on your card, you get 100 points really quick and get the free $10 gift certtificate. Not to mention the pluckers club specials and whatnot.

I went to the new Pluckers on I-35 and was very disappointed -- $4 for 3 fired pickle spears - You can get a gallon Jar of pickles for $3 and the chicken sandwich -- I could not call that a Chicken Brest more like a breast that didn't even need a training braw -- it did not even cover the small sized bun!!!! I will not be going back.

So Pluckers has decided to "get it started" down there, eh? Sorry for the bad Black Eyed Peas reference. there is not a way to make a good one.

I think Pluckers is alright, but not the be all end all that some of you make it out to be. Apparently I'm in the minority, though, because the last time we tried to go there to watch UT hoops the only table for two that they had was in a spot where you could absolutely not see any of the TV's, it was so packed.

The specials sound like a good deal, but I have never set foot in there and gotten out for less that $20-$25 for some wings and a few beers. And that Pluckers Club sounds like a rip--$20 for a 10% rebate AFTER you drop a hundy in there? That's nice of them!

I will go up there to see Coach Barnes this season, though.

As for the El Arroyo HH on Thursdays, they did drop the hours down from 2-7 to 2-6, but are they not still discounted at least some until 7? The talent used to be pretty allsome in there, but not the last few times I went. Those sweet and sour heavy ritas absolutely KILL my stomach, though, and no amount of Pepcid or Tums seems to help, so I've pretty much had to give them up.
