Ping G5 vs. Nike Slingshot (irons)

"I'm good off the tee with the driver. My problems lie in the 170 yd-230 yd range."

It sounds to me like you need to get a few hybrids, seriously.

Just got a 2 hybrid. Really like it. Good advise, thanks.

Hybrid's a good call. When I was a sophomore in high school I dropped five strokes off my game by getting a 5-wood.

No I don't play golf with Punt. I hardly play anymore.

People can knock me all they want but clubs probably aren't going to make much of a difference. Depending on how old your set of irons are and what you have right now (blades v. cavity back), you probably hit if further because they lower the loft on most of the newer irons. Everybody wants to buy a new set of clubs if they hit them further. The 170- 235 range is going to be the area that most everyone struggles with. Even the pros aren't as good when they have a three iron in their hands.

When did Callaway start making good irons? I remember when it was mostly just people on the senior tour playing those.

fwiw, I just bought a set of Titlelist 775's off of eBay. Should arrive tomorrow. I have been using Callaway Steelhead X-14's for years, so I am curious to see how these play. I hit the Titlelist, Ping G10's and the Callaway X-20's. Liked the Titlelist best from my short demo.

Will write up my thoughts after a few rounds.

BTW, I am 13 handicap, so blades were not a good fit for me.

I started using the natural golf swing during my warm-up session in Hawaii (which I learned watching a couple of YouTube videos). I hit about 30 shots with the natural golf grip and stance. I went out and shot a 39 on the front. Shot a 45 on the back (it got windy and the woman was getting bored).
