^ This is an excellent, excellent article by John Hollinger. They lost at home to Utah today, giving up 41 points in the 4th quarter. Nuggets just snapped the Spurs winning streak. Looks like Denver will eventually pass them up.
Nah, I think PHX will be in, although they'll be a very low seed.
Over the next few weeks, the Suns have an extremely favorable (not easy) schedule.
They are currently on a five game homestand - even the games vs. SA and GS I might consider winnable. We know they'll beat Memphis and Sac.
Though six of their following seven on the road, look at who four of those games are against - a fading Portland, a horrid Seattle, and at below average Philly and New Jersey. You figure they'll at least win those four, even on the road, and five if they can knock off the Rockets at home.
That said, if they don't make their move now, I see them struggling to make the playoffs. Starting March 30, 7 of the Suns final 9 are against teams with winning records.
If Phoenix is gonna make the move to seal a playoff berth, it's gotta be right now.
You do realize they lost to that "below average" Philly team AT HOME just a week ago. After getting outscored by 17 in the 4th last night to blow that game against Utah, I think the suns are in trouble. They had a good opportunity to shut the haters up this weekend against Utah and SA.
They failed miserably last night - we'll see how they do Sunday.
Remember about 3-4 years ago the kings where one of the elite teams in the west and trying to overtake the lakers. Then they lost Webber and Peja, along with nagging injuries to Bibby and Miller. They eventually became the ****** team they are now.
The Suns are headed down teh very same road. First with this stupid trade. Kerr better perform native american rituals so Amare stays healthy. Nashs play will begin to diminish soon, if it already hasnt. They will probably lose some valuable bench guys soon like Barbosa, who wants to start.
Seeing that the Spurs lost to Denver before that, I had a feeling that they'd lose @ Phoenix also. Nice win though.
It's not like I thought they'd lose every game here on out. Still think they're not going to make it. They have to hope another team collapses like Denver.
I'm still holding out hope for the playoffs. Had they lost both games this past weekend, I would have been reaching for the proverbial fork. I agree they certainly are not a championship team, but I can't see them missing the playoffs this year.
Phoenix has won 4 in a row with 2 good shots at Portland and at Seattle coming up. Again the West is so tight that there is only 4.5 games from 1st to 8th. Any team could lose a few and be close to falling out of the top 8 there. In fact SA has lost 4 in a row.
Don't worry, SA/Phoenix/LA/Dallas/Houston,etc will all be there in the playoffs. #1 will go to team who gets hot at end of season.
Wow the Spurs were the number 1 seed a few weeks ago, now they are the 7th seed and not playing well. Spurs have not been a good road team this year and they have not done well against teams with winning records.
