First he thought Kevin Durant not benching 185 was a by-product of UT's terrible strength program. I think we know how ridiculous that was. Now he's on Sportscenter saying that Dan Dakich was a better pick for IU interim head coach because, in preparing for a game vs. Illinois, Dakich was the one giving instructions to his team on how to defend Illinois while the other interim candidate, Ray McCallum, didn't say anything.
Uh... Pat, if you knew anything about preparing for a college basketball game, assistant coaches take turns scouting different teams, so if it's Dakich describing Illinois, it would have been McCallum (or the other assistant, Jeff Meyer) scouting the next team. Texas does the same thing, just like every other college hoops team I know of. Amazing that one of the senior ESPN.com writers who closely covers college basketball has no clue. What the hell are the experience requirements for a job there?
Yet I'm still watching Sportscenter, so I guess the joke is on me.
