Palin attacks continue

that is a very reasoned postion.

I wonde what Media thought it would discover 3 years later that would merit the attention they gave the release last week? It was beyond excessive to call on people to comb through the emails and then alert the media of perceived issues.

What could media learn in 2011 from the emails that could in any way be considere important?

No. I don't think college grades, your DNA and stuff like that should be subject to public disclosure unless you want it to be.

screw that, if someone has the power to authorize the confiscation of 50% of my money earned (like a member of congress) or has the power to destroy the world (the president), I have the right to know everything about them. They should also all be required to undergo a psychological profile.

Think tank? Um, no.

Do you know anybody that works at a think tank? I do. They are lucky they have a job.

IMO, the business that Palin conducted on computers owned by the taxpayers is owned by the taxpayers, as is the records of any other official governmental business she conducted while in the employ of the taxpayers.

This is absolutely 100% correct. Unfortunately, out of the millions and millions of emails that get sent out by government officials, palin's are the only ones that get published for the public to view.

How many people started following the Weiner scandal when he held press conferences and gave evasive answers.

people that watch fox news.

I think it's because Palin tried to hide the records.
________________________________________________

she had nothing to do with it. she hasnt been governor for 2 years. the emails have made her look good actually.

I think the records were requested when she was a vice-presidential nominee. The current relevance is that the records have just now become available and much of the difficulty in gathering them comes from the fact that Palin used a Yahoo account rather than official governor of alaska email to conduct state business. Had there been no difficulty in obtaining the emails, they would likely have been ignored as boring and mundane. Hey, at least now they make for a good photo op.

I'm at least glad that it doesn't seem as if a lot of issues have been cherry picked and blown out of proportion, but we'll see if that lasts. I do think it's funny, however, that even in acknowledging that, as David Gregory said, "not a lot of bombshells".

"Not a lot"??? Which bombshells actually DID emerge? This is the same network that was speculating last week that we might finally see the smoklng gun that would show Bristol Palin wasn't really Sara's kid.

it's funny how many of the outlets, even when they don't find what they are looking for, can't quite bring themselves to fully admit the hype was overblown.

I think most people realize the request was made 3 years ago when she was a VP candidate.
The question is why the frenzy now? Why is every single major media outlet dredging through 14, 000 emails of someone not in position to affect American lives?

One even sent her email to two writing analysts. This link shows an expert said Palin wrote.at 8.5 grade level
The Link

I wonder about that - whether it's that they don't really consider themselves as part of the "mob", that they have the right to be there, but all these other people are hoarding in on the action; or maybe it's just that you justify to yourself "well, we wouldn't be here if the attention level didn't force us to cover this", so then you can blame the mob that is "forcing" you to be there.

Why do reporters camp out on doorsteps for stories even if it looks and feels reprehensible? Because their editors tell them to.

Thanks Horn 6721 for linking something worthwhile in this labor-intensive fiasco. The reading ease analysis shows a reporter taking 24,000 lemons and making a pint of lemonade. He did pretty well with a task few would relish and it looks like the resulting story was fair, balanced and reflected well on Palin.

These "journalists" should be ashamed. How pathetic can they possibly be? At least pretend you're not a liberal hack.

Perhaps they could get lessons on that pretense around here. Perhaps there is some truth after all to the cliche: Those who can't do, teach.

I havent heard that one. I thought it was the claim that trig, the down syndrom baby, was bristol's and not sarah's. what's funny is that i never really understood this claim by the media. statistically, down syndrom baby's occur at an astronomical rate higher in older women than younger.
