Packing the Court

I mean, shiting your pants during a news conference, then waddling away while keeping your backside from showing the **** stain - that's some funny stuff, I don't care who you are.

You know Joe Biden shits himself too during speeches. He's just so senile he doesn't notice it, or care.

I couldn't see the video in the link you provided.

Do you think when people post stupid stuff like Trump drastically lowered taxes for rich and corps they think anyone will believe the lies? Or that the voting laws in Ga will prevent legal people from voting?
Horn6721, I don't think it will make any difference to those who have already made up their minds - but it does make me feel better to post an opposing view. The liberals are never going to listen to reason or facts - they have already decided what they are believing, and facts won't make any difference to them. Delusion reigns!

A. Looks like you haven’t convinced deez
B. Any good evidence about Biden’s diaper usage? Or are just **** posting?

OUBubba, I'm not concerned about the deterioration in Biden's bowel habits - I'm concerned about his mental deterioration. We're stuck with him for four years, and he could do a lot of damage to the country in that time.

He IS doing a lot of damage to the country.
6721, you're right - and I should have worded my post a bit better. My fear is that the Biden damage could get a whole lot worse. IMO, we can pin our hope on two items:
(1) a small crack in the Democratic majority in the Senate. If some Democratic Senator in a red state wants to be reelected, he may have to balk at the items proposed by the left. With a 50-50 Senate, it takes only one Democratic defection as long as the GOP votes as a bloc.
(2) The more the Biden administration screws it up, the better the chances for the GOP to take back the Senate (and maybe even the House) in the 2022 mid-term elections.

^Hic, I certainly hope you're correct. The only thing that put a lid on the Obama agenda was the Republican Senate after 2010. We absolutely must put a lid on the left agenda. Winning both the House and the Senate has to be the objective for the mid-terms.

You can bet Cocaine Mitch has given every possible bribe known to man to get Manchin to cross the aisle.

I'm not saying that he didn't. Someone who sharted might act similarly. I just think it's inconclusive, and I would think most politicians would be less obvious about it. Remember, every single one of these guys have farted in public and had to hide it.

Democrats launching legislation to pack the court and also plan to kill the filibuster. I think they will have a hard time passing the legislation, but it tells you about how democrats do not care about democracy,

I'll say it once again. If you voted for Biden you are an idiot.
Right -- If you cared about Democracy you would have voted for the guy who told the Georgia Secretary of State to count election results like Trump's golf caddy keeps golf scores ... lots of mulligans and credit for "gimmes" . Also the guy who believes the Constitution authorizes the Vice President to nullify an election outcome he doesn't like. Truly American lovers of Democracy should have voted for the Mango Mussolini... the orange Robert Mugabe wannabe who thinks lies plausible only to the uncritical thinkers should determine election outcomes, not actual counted votes.

You can stop trying to compare everything to Trump. Biden has proven to be nothing but a liar in his short time in office. His EO’s are far less democracy than Trump, Obama and Bush together. Yet he is still dominating your brain.

actual counted votes.
Crockett, the election is over - your man won, and he's now in office. The votes were counted.
One thing we all want for the next election (and all future elections) is assurance that all legal votes are counted. Note that I said legal, not actual. I'm not convinced that fraud didn't occur.
I'll repeat my statement from several previous threads -

"All who are legally entitled to vote, and only those who are legally entitled to vote, should get to vote once in each election."

To me, this means each voter needs to verify his entitlement before voting - and a voter registration card with a photo ID should suffice. And people who are not American citizens should not get to vote.

Now let's pray your man, now in office as POTUS, doesn't destroy the country before we get a chance to toss him out in 2024.

Having met you, you are much more level headed than us other whacky conservatives here, so when a guy like you thinks there was fraud, people should listen. But they don't.

2022 after impeachment.

The reason I keep bringing up Trump is because I'm a centrist who on principle will never support a lying narcissist with authoritarian tendencies. But the guy holds the Republican party in his thrall. Seems that pretending to believe his lies about a "stolen election" is something any ambitious Republican has to do. Thus sane voices like Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney have to give way to wacky right wing liars. This is bad. If they run against Trump any unindicted Democrat will win and the far left ...not the Centerists I prefer, will dominate government.

I would be shocked at this point to not see a huge red wave in the mid terms.

Well, we just a had a big election that the Republicans didn't really fight for.

Trump's attempts to claim fraud were built on stupidity. Then he called for Pence and electors to give him the election. Instead of getting a team to prosecute the server activities and actual evidence he chased at ghosts.

And the whole R party sat by and spoke CNN talking points. I don't have much faith in the system anymore. It is corrupt to the core in many ways and on both sides.

By the way, there's one guy here who opposed Trump's election hustle and supported his impeachment but also understands that none of it makes the Democrats' **** stink any less.

Crock, packing the Supreme Court to overturn its ideological balance especially when you want the Court to decide pretty much every cultural and social issue (and with little regard for the written law) is pretty damn authoritarian.

I don't think Democrats have the will or political capital to pack the court. FDR couldn't pull it off and the Democrats have no one of similar popularity and leadership ability now.

The same could mostly be said of Trump's efforts to retain the presidency. I agree that the Court isn't likely to get packed, but it's because of weak leadership and lack of votes. (Basically Joe Manchin and Kirstyn Sinema aren't total partisan hacks, and that's the biggest reason it's not happening.) It's not because the party has too much character to do it. Keep in mind that the legislation isn't coming from the crackpot wing. It's coming from the party leadership.

I don't think the leadership actually thinks it will succeed in packing the court. I think the point is political intimidation - as it was under FDR. The message is "hand down left-wing opinions, or we'll pack the Court." It worked for FDR. ("The switch in time that saved nine.") I think it'll work with John Roberts. Had they not slandered and fabricated a ******** sexual assault allegation against him, it might have worked on Brett Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh is a good Justice and a good person. Attacking with unprovable "evidence" hurt the Democrats. I guess it provided a good learning moment for some of us ... basically learning that memories from so long ago are poor evidence even if given from a place of sincerity and good intent. The witness, as I see it , is also a victim of the partisan hacks who convinced her to testify. I'm thinking her life would be better if she remained a shadowy figure who never came forward publicly. It's not like Trump was going to nominate anyone Democrats would like better.

They screwed that up badly. Personally, I wasn't particularly friendly to Kavanaugh. His record suggested that he'd be slightly to the right of his predecessor but not a conservative firebrand like Scalia, and that was the best they were going to do. It probably cost them the Senate in '18.
