Our schedule

Could it have been set up any better? Namely playing Top 5 OU/MU back-to-back early in the season. Aside from losing both, I can't think of a scenario that doesn't put us in a fine position to finish out the rest of the season:

Beat OU & MU --> duh
Beat OU/lose to MU --> net effect should keep us at or just outside the Top 5
Lose to OU/beat MU --> rebound win puts us right back in the Top 5

All 3 scenarios puts us in perfect position to finish out the rest of the season. Finish on a high note and watch the pieces fall into place.

Spare the one game at a time comments, as I'm just thinking about how our schedule may be a godsend.

You may now resume focusness.

You could very well be right but playing two top five teams back to back is a bear. Will make for some mighty fine football though.

As it sits right now we will play THREE Top 10 teams within a month. Rankings will change between now & then but we have an extremely tough schedule.

Luckily one of those games is at home. I think that is huge. If we do lose to OU it will be nice for the guys to be back on home turf to try to rebound and get their wits about them.

I don't think a win over OU, followed by a loss to Mizzou would keep Texas in the top 5. And if it happens that way, I would say that Texas should not be in the top 5. These damn early polls are messed up. Just ask USC and Georgia.

I would be happy with a split in these two games. I would be overjoyed with two wins but i still feel even with a split and then of course win out were still in a pretty good position.

If the Horns can sweep their October games, it will be "A Rocktober to Remember." Odds are against it, but if it happens it could be one of the best one month performances ever for the Horns. Come November, we'll have no doubt about the caliber of this team.
