OU Pro Day...Ehhh, Not So Good

Interesting. Don Banks' recent draft projection had Limas slipping to No. 24 the Titans (not a bad thing), Malcom going at No. 19 to the Eagles, and Devon Thomas as the first WR taken at No. 11 to the Bills.

The funny thing is that they are ripping Kelly a new one
on the soonerfans board WOW

They just aired an interview Kelly did today on Fox news in Austin. Said "I've given them my all for 3 years and they can't give me an hour and a half." Went on to say the setup at ou pro day was **** and it hurt him. It was classic. He completely blasted ou. Sure hope the recruits were watching.

This is going to be awesome. Kelly states that the training staff lied to him about his injury. Said they don't know how to put on a pro day and that members of the ou staff suck. Howell, McFarland, Jeffcoat, Seastrunk, and any other recruit that is considering UT vs. ou need to see the full interview Kelly gave. Pure gold. Couldn't have been any better had Mack Brown himself wrote the script.

A 4.6 for Kelly isn't surprising. He was never a burner. He's 6'4" with good hands. Hell, he spent a year catching passes from Paul Thompson for God's sake. He can probably catch anything after that.

honest question. how did malcolm do against texas. i only remember one td in last years games. if he tore us up with a 4.6 speed, i'm going to be really pissed, again.

^^

all americans, national titles and playing in the NFL? why would mcfarland want any of that?

not to mention the NFL pro bowlers that Mack's 4 star DTs become.

Take off the orange-tinted glasses.

If Kelly and/or Smith fall to the 2nd or 3rd Rounds, then the teams that pick them are going to get great value with those picks. Those guys were too productive at OU to pretend that a bad Combine or Pro Day showing will somehow prevent them from being solid pros.

Hell, I'd love to see the Cowboys get either of those cats in the 2nd or 3rd Round. That'd be Jason Witten (3rd) or Bradie James (4th) value.

I just saw Malcolm's interview on the Longview station, and he seemed pretty pissed. He said that the OU staff misdiagosed his injury and that it would cost him and his family money because his injury lingered when it was wrongly called something other than a "tear". OU staff told him that he needed to keep practising and offered the wrong advice for a quick mend.

I'll bet Stoops popped several veins when he heard this little diatribe.

Didn't OU have a similar stink a 2-3 years ago?

Kelly should have gone to UT where even kids that spurn the program and go early get the benefit of running on the same surface as the seniors busting their asses to get drafted (i.e., finley).

The DMN is reporting that both Sweed and Kelly will be coming to Dallas for a pre-draft interview. After his showing at OU's pro day, the Cowboys expect Kelly to be running behind and arriving at Valley Ranch tenths of a second after Sweed.

I hope that this was a mistake by Stoops, because Mack would have done his best to let his players shine. I think even if the track was slow, the damage has been done.
