OTHER GAMES

Seems like Alabama would have figured out that with five (and now six) receivers down with injuries, OU would have to run the ball, but OU has run for 200 yards in the first half. If Bama has any sense at all, they will load the box in the second half.

Sabre,Here is one for you. It looks like SMU is back. Do they have enough NIL money to compete. They cheated years ago but now can do it legally. Is there still plenty of corporate money in Dallas that will support SMU?
The wealthy booster base at SMU's disposal is no secret -- it's a big reason why SMU is willing to forgo ACC revenue payments for nearly a decade -- and the Mustangs haven't been afraid to flex that. Within the past year, SMU broke ground on a new $100 million end zone complex at Gerald J. Ford Stadium, bolstered by a record $50 million gift to its athletic department from the Garry Weber Foundation. The university isn't expecting donor support to slow down either.

"I expect that the individuals who have gotten us to this point will continue to invest, because that is who they are and what they do," SMU athletic director Rick Hart said in 2023. "This is really an opportunity. We need to broaden that support base, and we need others who have been on the sidelines or have been hesitant, whatever it is to step forward. And I don't think there is any other moment where you could replicate the opportunity we have."

Unsurprisingly, SMU has also been a major player in the NIL landscape since the NCAA permitted players to be compensated for their likeness two years ago. In August 2022, it was revealed that SMU football and basketball players could earn $36,000 annually in NIL compensation through the Boulevard Collective, spearheaded by a group of SMU alumni and donors.

Funny to hear the SEC homers Fowler and Herbie (weird being a Big 10 guy) crying about the SEC! refs while also having to continuously tout how great the SEC! is. Haha!

Milroe threw a long pass with a great catch by freshman sensation Williams in the end zone, but the line judge who was right beside Williams and two other receivers threw a very late flag (about the same time as the long pass was caught) and said Williams had been covered up. He clearly was not--he was closest to the line of the three receivers by a clear yard. I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but that call was so bad, I'm wondering if the ref is trying to help OU. They said this is the same crew that made the controversial call in the Texas-Georgia game.

Milroe is intercepted again, but OU defender hit Milroe with his hand full on in the facemask just as Milroe threw the ball. Is that supposed to be a penalty?
