Wisconsin's lucky enough to still be in it. An adept offense, they are not....

Still, they've got one last drive to put it together.

On Wisconsin!

They throw a pick and it's game over in the apparently tough at Wisconsin stadium.

Not gonna happen. Ducks D doesn't let it. INT

Oregon wins 16-13.

We're as good, or as bad, as any of the top 5 teams.

Chris Fowler: Texas just didn't look like an elite team today.

Five minutes later they report #1 Oregon beats a 5-5, and unranked, Wisconsin by 3 pts.

Screw Chris Fowler.

To be fair. Most of the posters on our game thread said the same thing about the Longhorns.

When it was still this score during the Tenn - Georgia game, Fowler and Herbstret was showing the Top 10 and how they did today.

Talked about Oregon game and how it was tied but tough to play at night in Wisconsin. Then got to the Texas game and how we struggled against Arkansas.

These two aren't the only ones spouting this narrative. It's getting out there about who have we beaten. We are 5 - 1 in the mighty SEC and all of a sudden our schedule is weak now.
Yep, it was predictable.

Texas dropped twice in the polls after "ugly" SEC! wins. Never happens to other SEC! teams, and Oregon won't drop either.

I guess Oregon brings better TV ratings than Texas. After all, that is why they decide to promote who they promote. Or maybe the Nike douchecanoe has paid them off.

Doubt very seriously that voters are " taking Fowler's word".
It isn't just Fowler. The reality is that, what originally seemed a strong schedule, is very mediocre. And nobody is doing less with more than Texas.

They SHOULD be curbstomping teams but the Quarterback Whisperer is too stubborn to put a mobile QB in the game. The result is predictable mediocrity that is seen by all.

If 9-1 is mediocre, I"ll take it every time.
"We should be curb stomping teams" ?
It's funny that "fans" set their own expectations and get sideways when the team doesn't oblige them.

There is far more to 'good' than record. We've had a weak schedule and even Ray Charles could see that, and Texas struggles are largely due to a QB that cannot get out of his own way and generally seems to be afraid of contact.

SOME here see it and the talking heads damned sure see it.

The game against aggy CANNOT be close. It MUST be a blowout on both sides of the ball. Otherwise, expect a drop in rankings.

Chris Fowler: Texas just didn't look like an elite team today.
Unfortunately Fowler is correct - Texas looked like an elite Defense, but certainly not the Offense. The offense did just enough to win against an inspired effort by the Hogs in a hostile environment. I'll be happy with the ugly win, because it does go into the "W" column. But the Offense needs to rachet it up for the rest of the season.

Every week there's a new narrative promoted by the mass media. After beating Texas, Georgia was the invincible #1 team. After losing to Ole Miss, they were dumped out of the top ten. Then Oregon was anointed, as Texas had been after whacking Michigan. And we were considered "back" to favorite status after pummeling Florida. Here we are a week later, and we're out of the running in many eyes. My point is that there are many good teams and we are one of them. Almost every week there is a new favorite among the mass media. And guess what? Their opinions mean nothing!!!!!!! Luckily for us, I guess, is as long as we keep winning it matters not one iota what Chris Fowler, or anyone else thinks.

Careful...some of the usual suspects will be by shortly to poop your post for daring to have eyes.

The Big 12

For next year and going forward,

As a condition to receiving an auto bid for the conference champion, a TOP 4 bid if the champ is in the top 4 conference champs, etc........

The Big 12 should be forced to bring on Wash. St. and Oregon St.-- the leftovers from the PAC. The Big 12 teams could all schedule another conference game or two.

It's already kind of a Conference USA.
