OTHER GAMES

It will be real interesting to see how Reed at A&M does at South Carolina next week. LSU looked totally unprepared for a running QB. Not sure why they didn’t stack the box and make him throw the ball? If he rolls through SC like he did LSU then you have to think they really are a threat to win the SEC and make noise in tue playoffs.
Also they rushed the passer really well in the 2nd half and if we can’t protect Ewers then we will struggle to score points against them.
That game in collie station has gotten really suspect at this point.

Nothing has changed with Cowboys after the bye week. Dak just threw an interception into double coverage in the first quarter. 49ers lead 3-0. . . . Maybe I spoke too soon. Gutsy drive by Dallas and they lead 7-3 in the second quarter. . . . Dallas holds 49ers on fourth down and then drives for another FG (a short one). 10-3. . . . SF made the proper adjustments at half time and is now blowing out Dallas.

After scoring a TD to cut the lead from 14 to 8, the Giants decided to go for two. They started setting up in a trick formation, with a picket fences of several lineman set way off to the left side of the center, with one back behind them. The center was supposed to long snap the ball to the QB who then would throw a pass out to the guy behind the picket fence. However, the guys on the picket fence were just standing there looking at the center, so when the QB threw the pass to his back, a defender just ran through the picket fence completely untouched (nobody even tried to touch him) and banged into the ball carrier at the same time the ball got there. Obviously--the try was no good. ;)

And these are the "professionals?"

I'm very concerned about arky. Their QB is good, can run and may be peaking. He had 5 TD's vs. MSU yesterday. Pretty good D.

Plus we play in FayetteNam!
The good thing about facing the arky qb in a couple of weeks is that it will give us a good preview of what we can expect to face from the aggy qb. I certainly dont want to look unprepared vs the hogs, but whatever mistakes we make there, we should be much better prepared when we face aggy. I would put 8 in the box vs arky and aggy and force them to beat us throwing the ball. If we let them beat us time and again on the read option like aggy did to lsu, someone on the defensive coaching staff needs to get their *** fired or a couple of DE’s need to lose their scholarship for losing containment on the qb.

Against the Texans, the Jets offense sucked in the first half. Aaron Rodgers was 7-14 in the first half for 32 yards. The Jets are scoreless after their rookie runner dropped the ball in celebration just prior to crossing the goal line on their only good drive of the first half. Some New York fans are wearing paper bags on their heads, and most of them are booing. . . . Jets doing better in second half--lead 14-10 early in the fourth after a circus one handed TD catch in the end zone by Wilson.

Texans drive. Have to settle for 43 yd FG try. It's good, but the Jets' defender roughed the center on the kick, so the Texans take the points off the board and accept the penalty for a first down at the 12. Have to try another FG on 4th and 7 from the 9. FG kicker doinks it off the upright. No good. ;)

QUICK --

name the teams in the old "Little Southwest Conference" in Texas high school football.
Which one?

At one time, that title was given to the old district which consisted of Baytown Lee, Pasadena High, Galena Park, Freeport, Texas City, & Galveston Ball.

Later, the title was "transferred" to Odessa High, Permian, Abilene High, Cooper, Midland High, Lee, San Angelo
