OTHER GAMES

I hate to see Frost fail at his dream job, but clearly the results are just not there. After the loss yesterday, it was a matter of time. And they certainly gave Scott enough time to put together a winning program. Wonder how Nebraska will locate a good coach to take over the program?

And the USAFA/CU game ended up 41-10. USAFA has a decent team - not sure they can win the Mountain West this year, but they do have a good chance to bring the Commander-in-Chief trophy back to Colorado Springs.

The Nebraska ordeal is a head scratcher considering the complete dominance they had not long ago but unloading hated Oklahoma, Texas and K State didn't help.

Horrible loss by the Ags. Just pitiful - App State was most likely a hired team. So they paid someone to come in and beat them!

And it wasn't like it was some lucky 101 yard runback at the end - App State lead or was tied all game. ATM never had the lead.

Wasn't App State the team that beat Michigan 4-5 years ago?

It's a mistake in scheduling to book these decent Division II schools as a filler game for your program. Some of them are actually quite good - I want to say GA Southern beat Florida at home in the last year of Will Muskrat.

App state was 10-2 last year - and though schedules are often set years ahead of time, they were 10-2 in 2018, and 12-1 in 2019 (no football for them I guess in the Wuhan virus year of 2020).

There's no upside to beating a decent Division II school - they're still a Div II school, and you still paid them to play. But somewhat of a chance they beat you, to much gnashing of alumni teeth. If you're gonna hire a chump, hire a true chump who's not had a wining season in years.

So far this year, P5 schools with "State" in the name are undefeated except when playing each other such that one of them had to lose (24-2, with the losses being Arizona State to Oklahoma State, and Louisiana State to Florida State).

Exciting to the end...

FINAL:

Free Shoes University 35

Wife is a FSU grad, otherwise I wouldn't give a rat's *** on here for the Noles...

9/17
Week 3
A so-so week with so-so looking headliner games
When conference play starts, it will get real good again.

#12 BYU vs #25 Oregon
BYU looks for another top 25 win after beating Baylor in OT. Best looking Cougar team in a while.

#24 Penn State vs Auburn
Low scoring bore

#6 OU at Nebraska
Sooners travel to team turmoil.

#13 Miami at aTm
No game day for this also ran game. Canes with the V.

#11 Mich St at Washington
An early road test for a solid Spartan team.

Texas State at #17 Baylor
The Texas State crew rolls into Waco to teach Baylor some morality, including not to get plastered and tape coeds.

#1 Georgia at So Carolina
Lopsided now. Was once a big rivalry.

UConn at #4 Michigan
Please

Cal at ND

#20 Ole Miss at GT
Lane all day

Tech at #16 NC State
Big test for the Raiders

Miss St vs LSU
Both are down. Bulldogs for the upset—sort of.

Fresno State at #7 USC
The Trojans sure have shot up the rankings. Been a while since USC was a top 10 powerhouse. Now if they only had Bru McCoy…

Nebraska just has no defensive speed. That Sooner QB just completed the slowest 60 yard TD run I've ever seen. Defensive Tackles returning fumbles have moved with more haste than that. And yet pretty much nobody even got near him. If they can't recruit some guys who can move, it won't matter who the coach is.

Root for CT or hope the dirt burglars are ranked in top 5 for Red River… or for poetic perfection, Nebraska up 2 scores in 4th and they blow it.
