OTHER GAMES

SMU folded up and went home in the second half.

I stopped following this after halftime with SMU up 24-7. Figured they'd win like 41-15 or whatever.

And it was no fluke. He got better players, ran better plays, built a stadium, got them a Heisman, and had basically passed us by—starting with a school with no history and located in Waco of all places.

Fluke? No. Duplicable without his previous lack of discretion in what sort of person he recruited and let stick around? Probably also no.

Perhaps Briles could secretly get a name change, some plastic surgery, a moustache, and some groovy sunglasses, then discreetly come onto our staff as an overpaid "analyst" but actually run the show, run the (closed) practices, and call the plays. He would be barred from any parties, of course.

[I shouldn't have to say this, but this is obviously in jest, so don't jump all over me folks...]
Are you thinking a makeover much like the icon used by @Driver 8 ? :D

TCU at WVU - Watching the game my only comment is "how the hell did we manage to lose to TCU at home?"

WVU 24
TCU 6
4th Qtr.

And that was the final score. This puts the Frogs in 7th place in the conference.

11/21

OU v Okla St — Root for the Mullet. Witness two good coaches face off.

KSU v ISU — they call this matchup Farmaggedon. The Cyclones bring some of that wrath one would expect at the end of the world.

Purdue v Minnesota — Gophers.

Air Force v aggies - the aggies from NM State that is. Falcons fly high today.

Illinois v Nebraska — NU might be the favorite, but don’t count out U of I. Nebraska is fresh off beating Penn St.

UF v Vandy — Trask racks up some more gaudy numbers.

Wake v Duke — Wake’s O rolls Duke in this matchup straight from the fiery bowels of Hades.

SFA v Memphis — Jacks are trying to step up and show they can play with the big boys. They can’t.

LSU v Arkansas - more interesting than we would have expected at the start of the year
There’s some real upset potential here.

Clemson v FSU — please...

Indiana v aOSU. — the headliner game will show us if IU is a real contender. Go Hoosiers.

Miss State v Georgia —. Leach wonders why he ever took this job. He’s down to 54 scholarship players without considering any losses due to the virus. The yokels start to wonder why they ever hired this guy who pretends he’s a Pirate.

Wisconsin v Northwestern — NW has a decent D, but mighty Wisconsin will overcome them.

Bama v Kentucky — I just don’t see an upset here.

USC v Utah — Trojans face a tougher test than the cupcake buffet they’ve dined on thus far. A late game for those who just can’t get enough college football.

Oregon v UCLA — upstart UCLA lacks the horsepower to shoot down the Ducks.

Tennessee v Auburn - ? 2 underachievers this year. Auburn would be good if they had a decent QB. If...

Oh yeah. Almost forgot.

The undefeated, 8-0, 8th ranked BYU Cougars continue their march towards a well-deserved fourth spot in the playoffs against their visitors from Alabama today.

(North Alabama that is...)

Illinois v. Nebraska replay booth gets off to a horrible start. The Nebraska QB threw a pass sideways, and the officials called it a backward pass recovered by the defense. No booth review. Two problems--it was actually a forward pass and therefore incomplete; and it was thrown when the QB was beyond the line of scrimmage, so it should have been a penalty. Then, on Illinois' first play after the the "fumble," the Illinois player was clearly down on a tackle before the defender knocked the ball loose and and it rolled forward another five yards where it was recovered by Illinois. The refs spotted it there, and, again, no booth review so Illinois got a 5 yard gift.

Buckeyes strike first, then IU’s center hikes it over the QB’s head. Not a great start for IU in its biggest game in decades.

aOSU 7
IU 0

Don’t think Ohio St will have much trouble today. Looking way stronger than Indiana. Come on Indiana prove me wrong.

Oh wow, they just went for it on 4th and 2 from the Ohio State 37. Guy was wide open and probably would have run for a lot more after the catch. Unforced drop. Looked upfield at his running lane before he secured the ball.

After five combined drives so far, has either team called a single run play?

Nebraska tried going for it on fourth and 2 inside Illinois territory, but a bad shotgun snap gets past the QB who chases it down and throws a desperation pass that is intercepted. Illinois lost a few yards by not simply knocking the pass down.

Bucks are getting some pretty good pressure on Penix, IU’s QB.

I expect aOSU to ultimately wear them down in the trenches, but you never know.

Wow!!!!

3-4 tip INT for IU. A DL ultimately brought the ball down for the INT.

Buckeyes are looking rather tough up front.

Indiana gets a big pass over the top, all the way down to the 3. Two plays later, they tie the game on a wide screen where the WR who caught the pass just overpowered the one unblocked DB who met him at the 1.

One of the refs in IU-OSU just went down without being touched. Can't put any weight on his right leg. Probably means an ACL or something similarly bad. :(

And that was the final score. This puts the Frogs in 7th place in the conference.

And Herman told us we were just a fumble at the goal line away from being 6-1. It's hard to win.

Hey Tommy, we should have controlled that game from start to finish.

Now another 4th and 3, minute and a half left, at the LSU 27. How good is their kicker? Lining up ... kicking ... it's tipped! Stays straight, but lost too much momentum and lands in the endzone.

Hogs only have 1 timeout, so even if they force a three and out they may not get the ball back.

Down 42-35 - Hoosiers fought hard, had chances to score more points, running out of time. Have the ball with 38 seconds and no timeouts on own 20....

Indiana down 7, at their own 23, with 40 seconds and no timeouts. They have almost 500 passing yards but have been out rushed 306-11. I'd have to think if they actually get a touchdown here, they would go for 2.
