...the assistant coach of Lostbaby3's basketball team, was putting up Christmas lights yesterday morning, near the roofline of his two story house and fell off the ladder. Unfortunately no one was outside helping or holding the ladder at the time. His wife was home, inside, though. He was LifeFlighted to Hermann, and appears to OK, sort of, this morning. Several skull fractures, concussion, swelling in a couple different areas in/on his head that they are watching. But no neck or back injuries and no paralysis, no other broken bones, so that is good. He is in ICU today still, and expected to stay in the hospital through the week. Today they are saying surgery does not appear necessary.

For anyone heading out to church this AM, offer up a prayer of thanks that this was not any more serious. He was unconscious for several minutes at first. And prayers that his recovery is full, swift, and without compllications.

And if you are on a ladder putting up lights - have someone out there to help. Or go to basketball practice and forget about the lights!

OMG ! that's scary. I pray that he will recover quickly and the swelling will go down.

My hubby went out yesterday to buy a new ladder before he put up our lights, he and I were both affraid of our old one and we only have a 1 story house but it has a higher ridge in one area.
