Olympic Qualifying starts this week...

Adu's second free kick was just nasty. The keeper was left flat-footed as the ball hit the side netting inside the goal. Jozy also won that FK.

Kljestan finished off the game with the third goal, finishing nicely near-post after a beautiful touch inside the box. He worked hard all game and was one of the bright spots.

Youth team success doesn't always translate to full senior team success, but it's clear that this generation is the best we've ever had. They're just different in their technical abilities, tactical knowledge of the game, and style of play. From this team, the clear future stars are Jozy, Freddy, and Nathan Sturgis (who was great last night), with Chris Seitz a good possibility as well. Marvell Wynne showed some good stuff going forward, Kljestan was very workmanlike, and I really like that kid Stuart Holden. We also have Eddie Gaven on the bench who could finally realize his potential.

And this team didn't have Michael Bradley, Danny Szetela, or Robbie Rogers. There's tons of talent in the pipeline - I just hope we hire a coach who can put us in position, tactically, to compete with the elite teams in the world over the next decade.

Congrats the team for qualifying for the Olympics. It will be a great experience for the players and coaches. I'm eager to see which players will be added between now and the summer. It's a very good group.

We've only scored one goal during the run of play through four games. We need to create more chances during play instead of relying on PK's and set pieces. Adu may be our best ever free kick specialist, but we have to be able to score during play.

Great game. Had front-row seats. After Freddy scored his first goal, he looked directly at my friends and I and ran over to us to give us five. You saw it if you were watching the FSC broadcast. (Note the Texas flag on the wall in front of us.)

After the game, the entire team left the field - except for Adu. He went around and signed autographs for the fans for about 20 minutes. Somehow, he accidentally signed my TX flag -- the one that was on the wall. One of the few instances in which I can accept defamation of the TX flag.

My 10 year-old daughter will be excited.

Can't wait for Sunday's game. Look for the State Flag of Texas with Freddy Adu's signature on it!!

Oh, by the way, there were Mexican fans in attendance. They had bags on their heads. I kid you not. They were displaying the Mexican flag, but wore paper bags on their heads.

Sam's Army had several chants directed towards them..."where is Mexico? and "Mexico. Are you watching" among others.

Awesome. Love to hear Freddy sticking around for the fans. He's struggled with maturity at times (I mean, he was 14) but he's been nothing but class since moving to Benfica.

Sam's Army had a good showing. Musta been weird for the kids playing in front of a pro-US crowd.

I think it was some generic, "when Altidore comes marching home again" song.

As per the home crowd. I mentioned during the Guat game that most of those in attendance - from both countries - would probably stay and cheer for the U.S. They didn't buy it. I tried to explain that, unless we're playing their country, the U.S. is generally their second favorite.

I told them it would be ironic that the U.S. would have one of its best "homefield" advantages in awhile BECAUSE of all the foreign born fans that would stay and root for us. That's exactly what happened.

He's cap-tied now and Rossi will see about 5 minutes of field time for the full Italian national team over the next 15 years.
