Old Texas Logos?

Anyone know of a site that shows all the historical Texas logos? I've seen the site with the football helmets through the years, but I'd like to find official variations used of the T, UT, and Bevo.

I had located this one:

Logos

but I find it difficult to believe that the two longhorn heads (without TEXAS) were official.

I agree with you regarding the two noted; the other three all have the "TM" mark either to the bottom right of the S in TEXAS or to the right of Bevo's jaw.

A buddy of mine who once worked for UT-Admin told me that UT's fierce protection of all-things UT dates back to a lawsuit/negotiated settlement with DayGlo UT and the familiar block U and T that both schools use.

Apparently DayGlo sued Texas for exclusive rights to that logo and the negotiated settlement was for DayGlo to have exclusive right east of the Mississippi and Texas to have the rights west of the river.

Following that was a strong UT legal department push to trademark EVERYTHING that the University put out regarding logos, the color "burnt orange", phrases, etc.

UT WILL hunt down and pursue you like a dog (figurative speech here,

) if you step over the line.

What I've heard.

If you're going to produce and sell anything for a profit using UT-like logos or "Texas Longhorns", etc., or if you're going to name your new business "Texas Trash/Disposal" with a longhorn logo in burnt orange, get ready for "knock on the door" with a friendly cease and desist letter from downtown UT offices.

As I've always understood it, the block UT was always ours, we just agreed to let the other UT use it east of the Mississippi.

The longhorn with a black outline is one that Zephyr uses on hats. It is definitely trademarked. The other one is an old longhorn that was used on merchandise years ago(at least as far back as the 70s).

I have a vintage trashcan from when my dad was in college. It has the bottom right longhorn on a football helmet without Texas on it. Seems legit to me.

The Tennessee "T" logo is rounded:

The Texas logo is squared:

Also, it appears Tennessee has decided to use the following logo for everything except athletics:

From their websites, it appears the interlocking UT is no longer in much, if any, use.

I found this thread interesting, mostly because of the subject (they too have an orange pants contingent!!). One poster says they're consciously dropping the interlocking T for the "power T." We seem to be doing the same, though we also have the hook'em, whick pwns, so no worries there.
