I know that this was a given, but it's nice to see some of my local heroes getting into the Hall of Fame.

It does suck, though, that ESPN will most likely give Vitale's induction at least equal time with Olajuwon's.

The 1995 playoff run out of the #6 seed was awesome. The Dream's performance in those playoffs was other-wordly. Worthy of Hall of Fame induction all by itself.

I still remember some of the moves that he did against David Robinson and Shaquille O'Neal during those two championship runs.

If only Yao can master those same moves ..... sigh.

He was "unbeatable" those two seasons. I still do not know how he made some of those baseline turn around shots.

One of my all time favorite players. He has such quick hands. Great at blocking and steals. One of the most underrated players.

Was there ever a *****-slap in NBA history more pronounced than the night David Robinson got his 'MVP' trophy?

A good friend of mine is a big Coog fan and I went to about half of the home games during the Phi Slamma Jamma years. Lots of Conference Championship and NCAA games as well including the Final Four in Seattle.

Incredible player.

Freak of nature. As quick as a point guard and 7 feet tall.

Never even picked up a basketball until he was 15 or so.

The Dream.

I hate that Ewing and Hakeem are going in at the same time, because now we're going to hear the "two greatest centers of their era" garbage all over again. Ewing was a fine player but he was not in Hakeem's league, ever. If Hakeem had played in NY and Ewing in Houston they would have statues of Hakeem in each of the 5 boroughs.

I don't have a problem with Ewing going into the HOF in the same year. I think it's sad that ESPN headlines put Ewing first, and it did so both before and after the voting.

If Hakeem had grabbed 21 more rebounds in his career, he would be the only person in the top ten for points, rebounds, blocks, and steals.

I'd put him in with Chamberlain and Jabbar as the top three centers of all time.
