Oklahoma's basketball team

Well, if they're going they better go find some tickets.
Blake Griffin is a great player but the rest of the team including HotDog Willie Warren is very mediocre.

WW is not mediocre. Absurd commentary. He is a freshman prone to silly mistakes, but he is hardly mediocre.

I agree about the rest of the roster, though.

I think so too. Tough game to take -- our guards picked the worst possible time to play their worst game of the year

Psycho T couldn't Blake's jock...but then again, neither can anyone else.

Good year for OU -- we got to watch a once-in-a-generation player (for us) and came a game away from the Final Four. Had Blake not missed 1 1/2 games, we would've been a #1 seed and probably ended up in Detroit. At some point, though, our limitations would have caught up with us.

Still, if someone would've told us three years ago that the program would be in its current shape, we'd have gladly taken it and told them to pass the smoke. Been a good year.

Willie Warren is far from mediocre!! What is scary, is he is going to improve. OU had a great year, congratulations to them.

Bwuahaha.

Why do they deserve to move on when they lost? They got pounded by a far superior UNC team. If they hadn't lost in the elite 8 they still would've lost in the FF to UCONN, UNC and probably Michigan state. The only team I think they would've beaten in the FF is Villanova.

According to the logic sooner fans apply to football, it was a failed season. Missouri won the Big XII title --they had a better team and a better year. Now the sooners will say head to head matchups matter.

Head-to-head doesn't matter. So what if they lost to UNC, 0U was clearly the hotter team for the last 7 min.

Besides after UNC pulled their starters, 0U Warren was shooting 3s and tossing alley-oops in the final minute. They pile it on baby.

They had to so that they could score 60.

I didn't get it until about 4 or 5 posts in when someone mentioned "football".

I haven't been watching the hoops this year, so I was thinking that maybe something happened. Then I "got it".

I watched this game in it's entirety. Blake Griffin is a ******* beast. He was double and triple teamed the entire game and still made UNC his *****.

The rest of OU couldn't hit water if they fell off a boat. Had they hit even a few of their 3's, this would have been a game.

Hansborough looked totally confused most of the game. Griffin is light years ahead of him and it's not even close.

Willie Warren an average player? You must be on crack. Did you not see what he did to us? Kid is legit and will be a top 10 pick...

Blake Griffin is a very good player, but are we confident we can call him "once in a generation" (even for OU). I guess it depends on your definition of generation, but that would mean that in the next 50-60 years, OU will not see another player like/as good as Blake Griffin. I think we are going a little over the top here. Again, very good player. Still undecided if he will be any good in the NBA. But I think it is safe to say he is not "once in a generation."

You sir are incorrect...

Wayman is by far the best player to ever play basketball at OU. Blake is def in the Top 5 tho.

Yeah...NBA prominence has absolutely nothing to do with college level ability. Blake Griffin gets a 1/3 of his points from fast breaks or wide open dunks, maybe more...your comparisons are lacking. Griffin is a great player, but UT has his medicine and I'd rather go up against him that Hollis Price any day...

Why aren't Mookie Blaylock's numbers inflated and, therefore, diminished due to Tubbs' system? Just curious why you take points away from Tisdale for that, but not Blaylock.

Back in Tisdale's day, big men were big stiffs who couldn't run. Coaches like Tubbs, Nolan, and Tark made nice careers out of taking small but athletic centers who could run and making them scoring machines. Why? Because they could easily beat their man down the floor and score on them. Tisdale was in this system but he was legitimately good. He was also 6'7".

Griffin plays in a day when big men are more athletic. North Carolina has a deep and athletic front line and they double and triple teamed Griffin in mostly half court situations. He still got his.

Tisdale was a very good player. Griffin is one of the best college big men in a long, long time.

Griffin > Tisdale.

I think it's funny that people talk about Damion James being a NBA player, and then question what type of a NBA player Griffen will be.
