Austin Wood pitching today. Didn't he shutout OSU last year on Sunday, completing the sweep? IMO, he has been the single most disappointing performer on this year's team, shutting down absolutely no one, save one great start against Stanford.

Sorry, but being "doomed" or "jinxed" means zero to me. Wood could posibly throw a no-hitter or he could give up 6 in the 1st inning. What I write has nothing to do with it.

One on, one in
That ended up being an error on Tucker.
Ridling - full count again....pop up F7
Medchill - out 3-1
1-0 OSU

Tyler Blandford from Owensboro, KY pitching for OSU. He's 3-3 with a 6-35(!!) ERA and 9 bombs given up. Anderson hopes to get 5 out of him today.

Bottom 1:
Torres - works a walk after being down 0-2 and steals 2nd
Tucker - whiff

No offense to Austin Wood's family or to Austin personally, but I've never seen anything from him that indicated he was good enough to be a starting pitcher for a program like Texas. Ever. I think this year, with so many new pitchers, and Kenn and Riley coming off an injury year, Texas desperately needed an elder statesman to rely on, and Austin was the guy. But I've never felt comfortable with him on the mound, certainly not as a weekend starter, so his performance this year has not come as a shock to me.

Belza - out 4-3

Regarding Wood, I thought he was really putting it together late last year. That's why this year has been so disappointing.

I feel for Austin. He has been used as a starter on multiple days, coming out of the pen and a closer.

Our pitching staff as a whole this year has been inconsistent. I am not sure if its the players or the coach.

Sac fly for Torres
4-1 Texas
Peck's ERA isn't bad - around 3.00, but minimal K's, so hitters are making contact.

Hernandez on 1st, 2 outs
Tucker up
