Obama is in great shape

There are about 20-25% on both sides who simply hate the other side. The rest 50-60% of us prefer a more civil tone and compromises when required.

But...but...I just lived through eight years of Karl Rove, Cheney, Gingrich, Iraq, Tom DeLay, et al. My congressional district was turned into a gerrymandered mess that looks like a 200 mile long toothpick. I want to see the lions start eating the Christians where I'm one of the lions, not one of the Christians. When is it my turn?
Now you want to make nice, all of a sudden?
I want to see Democratic Popeyes open up their cans of spinach and start kicking Republican Blutos.
I got my popcorn ready.

Go for it, accurate. Just remember the old "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind," etc.

Heck, I have been in a shitload of mediations -- mediators all share one piece of wisdom that bears pretty true: the parties can tit for tat all day long, but the first side to make a reasonable offer will end up with the better end of the deal.

I don't deny that there's plenty to be pissed about. And that there's plenty to be fixed. But I can't for the life of me see how a platform of revenge helps the country one goddamned bit. Not a single goddamned bit.

I guess it entertains the 20-25% on the left who want to **** back. Just like the original ******* entertained the 20-25% on the far right. Meanwhile, the 60% of us in the middle get covered in your spunk of bitterness. **** that **** -- all of y'all keep it to your own damn selves -- if you want to **** each other, get a room and leave the rest of us out of it.

Well, I'm only about 75% serious. I also don't know how different Obama would be than Hillary, it is more perception than reality, I think.

Turning the other cheek is the thing to do as well, and reach out to the Republicans.

That is what Obama will do.

Now getting his policies passed over the conservatives is a different story.
