Final. There you go. FT shooting came through in the clutch as well as Abrams. Hopefully the game against OSU won't be as tense.

Nebraska has been hot and while we didn't play well, we still won. That's what counts.
 
Mason quietly has another solid outing - no TOs.

All starters played 36 or more minutes. Nebraska may have been hot lately, but they don't have the athletes Texas has.

I think fatigue has been a big factor in two pedestrian outings. The players need a laugher, but only one regular season game left.
 
I'm a little more worried about the OSU game. If they beat OU (without Blake Griffin) at home tomorrow, they'll be on a 6 game winning streak.

But Senior Night featuring JD Lewis and Ian Mooney must surely be one of the biggest in years.

Frustration reigns, but props to the Horns for denying us at the gate - again, like they have done so many times before.
 
Amazing, HNK... 10 threes when they're 11th in the league at five made per game. But three or four of those were lasers.

But you were right on, talking about forcing jump shots. It helps when Maric is back there but Nebraska was really solid defensively and Texas got nothing on the blocks.
 
Agree that we played out of our minds tonight. You said it...three point shooting is NOT our forte. But we made em tonight.

I just hope we don't **** it up Sunday vs. sCUm.

Nebraska is the type of team that come the Big 12 Tourney, can be one and done or go a long way. Very defensive team, but doesn't have a lot of offense so most games will be close games.
 
This game should have been over 5 minutes into the 2nd half. I put that more on our offense for being lazy than their defense. AJ got himself one open look from deep all game...luckily it was the one that mattered. Nebraska shot out of their ***, but still no excuse for not winning this one by double digits.

I really want to see us get OSU down early and then pull a 'Kansas'.
 
Just as in football many of our fans do not give our opponents enough credit. That Nebraska team is as good or better than anyone we will see in a second round game in the tournament, even without their point guard. They will be a tough out in KC. This game is the kind that this Texas team has learned to win. No panic when our opponent makes a run. This is the kind of thing that will make us better in the NCAA's.
 
I agree - give Neb credit for playing a good game. From what I could tell, our guards we're weaving and trying to penetrate the lane, but they were really good at cutting off our angles. How many times did our guards make it into the paint? Good thing we were hitting our outside shots.
 
I was at the game and want to know if anyone else noticed Rick Barnes lack of enthusiasm on the bench. Until 2 minutes to go in the game, he never stood up, never yelled at a player or the ref, and sat with his head propped up by his hand, ala "the thinker". He looked like he wanted to take a nap. No enthusiasm from the coach equates to no enthisiasm from the team.
