No 24 thread?

I was wondering where the 24 thread was as well.

24 was pretty good, although the body count was rather low. I think Jack was responsible for only one kill.

I really like the new President, and Agent Walker is easy on the eyes.

It's obviously very formulaic and a bit watered down but I'm still in. They seem to have tweaked it enough this season to keep it somewhat fresh and relevant to the times. I think as long as you go into knowing it's never going to be completely realistic it's still an enjoyable series to watch.

But apparently it seems they will never get away from the trusty "kill the person of interest off a moment before he/she has a chance to give Jack crucial information" bit.

Here's a question Ive always had. Since the show is based on a straight 24 hour period of jacks life, when does he go to the bathroom? He can't possibly hold it in for a full day. Therefore he has to wear dipers.

I can't ever recall seeing him eat or drink either. Definitely falls into the category of suspension of disbelief. Either that or one is supposed to assume he does all that while other scenes are being shown.

I do remember in Season 1 when his daughter (Elisha Cuthbert aka Sloppy Seconds, aka Pure Hotness) was kidnapped, they tried to show the effects of him being sleep deprived, but apparently they said screw it to those efforts in subsequent seasons. We'll just have to assume he pumps himself full of greenies, ripped fuel and the occasional line of coke.

It's not really that difficult to see him not eating. When my dad had his heart attack, we were at the hospital and it was over 12 hours before I even thought of food.

National emergencies, gun battles, violence...I'm sure your body is in full survival mode with adrenaline and one could go without food for a day.

I'm in and am already excited about next week. The wife checked out after last week (Tony plot was too far fetched) and she is one responsible for getting me hooked on the show in its first season.

I too like the Madame POTUS and the Sec. of State (Prison Warden in the Shawshanck Redemption) was a good pick for the role. He will be discovered for his involvement in the SEC investigation / murder of POTUS son cover up part of the plot in about 3 more episodes.

Great episodes, but anyone tired of the whole mole/traitor subplot? I mean, seriously...neither the CTU/FBI or the White House can keep any of them out?

I keep waiting for this episode:

The following takes place between 12pm and 1pm. Cut to Jack sitting at a Chili's for an hour.

I think the writing has improved over the last two seasons. I wonder if it is the same folks?

As far as the overall plot goes -- that it is a team of 3 domestic homies, now 4, against the entire fed apparatus is a pretty big stretch. In the real world, they would be seen in a class with the Unibomber or the Republic of Texas types. Also, that one little cobbled together device can bring all of DC to its knees is (hopefully) farfetched.

But I dont really care. It's still very good and I found myself gripping the side of the lazyboy at times. And I'm glad to see a core of the better characters return without the goofy minor ones.

In addition, its fairly easy to see the mini-plot line with the first dude dovetailing with the main story down the line.

Even Jeanine Barfola isnt overly irritating. Yet.

And I nominate as best brief scene to date when Agent Walker was sprawled on the table passed out. I guess that qualifies as set design.

Do I need to watch the two hour movie from December before last nights episode? I'm just not feeling 24 the way I used too.

am i the only one that missed the "redemption" episode? i found it on hulu a few hours ago and just finished it. not sure when it aired.

love 24 and been watching since the first episode, so i know you have to suspend belief, but explain again hot Almeida is still alive? they just kind of mentioned it briefly, but ...
the bad guys knew Almeida was dead, and within 10 minutes of his heart stopping they were able to get to him and inject him with something to bring him back to life and get him on their side? is that right?

excited for the new season, but that one definitely had me scratching my head.

No you really don't need to watch the Redemption episode other than the fact that it was good as a stand-alone episode.

All you need to know was that Jack was in Africa at an orphanage, ended up saving the kids and, in the process, killed the brother of the black dude that's running the show on the current episodes. So, Jack is kind of intertwined with the main storyline of the US getting into the affairs of the African country.

The silent clock defintiely caught me off guard. Walker is not going to die under a thin layer of dirt. That stupid *** First Husband is getting exactly what he deserves.
